Kayamkulam: Two arrested in connection with the death of Suchitra (19) at Kayamkulam. The parents of Vishnu, the husband of Suchithra, have been arrested in the case, police said. Uttaman (52) and Sulochana (47) were arrested in the case.
On June 22, Suchitra was found hanging in the living room of her husband’s house. Suchitra and Vishnu married four months ago. The parents of Suchithra alleged that the accused demanded 10 lakh as dowry. The domestic violence started after Vishnu returned to Jharkhand in May, police said. Petition filed by Sunil and Sunita, parents of Suchitra based on this.
New Delhi: With the decline of covid, cinema theaters in Delhi have been permitted to operate. Only 50 percent of the capacity is allowed to enter.
Halls must be sanitized before filming begins. Conditions such as the need to install UV lights must be met. Permission was granted on July 26th. Food is not allowed inside the theater.

Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has resigned. The resignation of the Chief Minister is on the second anniversary of the government.
The resignation comes amid rumors that the central leadership is planning to remove BS Yediyurappa from the leadership. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was invited to become the Union Minister when he was the Prime Minister. However, he told the assembly that he was interested in staying in Karnataka.
According to the BJP central leadership, Yeddyurappa will not be able to contest the next general elections.
Yeddyurappa, who came to power after the fall of the Congress-JDS coalition government in July 2019, has been in power for two years. MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal, Tourism Minister CP Yogeshwar, and MLCH Vishwanath themselves had made public statements directly against Yeddyurappa.
But the Veerasaiva Lingayat community, which makes up 16 percent of the state, is with Yeddyurappa. The Lingayat leadership had come out with a warning that if Yeddyurappa is replaced, there will be setbacks.

Mumbai: Heavy rains cause severe damage in Maharashtra. About 2.5 lakh people have been evacuated from the affected areas so far. The death toll rose to 149. About 100 people are missing. Rescue efforts were also hampered by the flooding of roads leading to flood-hit areas.

Kollam: The Kollam Principal Sessions Court has rejected the bail plea of Kiran in connection with the mysterious death of his wife Vismaya. The court summoned the case in the morning and adjourned it till noon for judgment. The case was taken up in the afternoon. Judge KV Jayakumar ruled that bail could not be granted at this stage considering the circumstances of the case. The court observed that section 304B of the Dowry Torture Act could not be ignored and that the defendant could use his high position and status in society to influence witnesses and affect the case.
The court said that Kiran’s cruelty was not justified and that the accused could approach the high court for bail. BA Alur had earlier appeared for the accused on bail. Advocate Raghunath Pillai countered for the prosecution. The High Court today is hearing a case filed by Kiran seeking quashing of the FIR in the case related to Vismaya’s death.
New Delhi: At least nine people have been killed after a landslide in Himachal Pradesh. The incident took place in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The Sangla-Chitkul road in Kinnaur was hit by large boulders from the hill. Those who traveled that way were trapped in the landslide. The death toll is likely to rise. The rocks hit the top of an 11-member vehicle. Eight people died on the spot. Another died before reaching the hospital.
The video of the mud and rocks falling from the top of the hill on the road at the bottom has already spread on social media. The video shows the Balsery bridge collapsing due to large pieces of rock.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court dismissed the DK Jain Committee in the ISRO scam case. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court upheld the committee’s involvement in the case. The court praised the committee, including the chairman. The apex court said the CBI should not rely on the committee to collect evidence. The court said it needed to find evidence on its own merits.
The court noted that it could not move against the defendants based on the report. Nambi Narayanan and the accused officials can state their case in the FIR case. The court also questioned why the CBI FIR had not yet been uploaded on the site. The High Court granted interim anticipatory bail to two accused in the case.
The first accused S Vijayan and the second accused Thampi S Durgadath were granted interim anticipatory bail for two weeks. The court said that in case of arrest, the accused should be granted bail on a bond of Rs 50,000 and the accused should co-operate with the investigation. The court stayed the arrest of PS Jayaprakash, the 11th accused in the case, for two weeks and adjourned the case till next Monday.
