New Delhi: The Covishield vaccine is 93 percent effective against the coronavirus, according to a study. The study also found that Covshield helped reduce mortality by 98 percent. The information was released by the Niti Ayog based on a study conducted by the Armed Forces Medical College during the second wave of Covid.

The study included more than 15 million doctors and frontline workers. According to VK Paul, a member of the Finance Commission, studies have shown that Covid shields provide excellent immunity to 98 percent of people who receive the Covshield vaccine during the second wave of the Delta variant, reducing mortality by 98 percent.

No vaccine can guarantee that the coronavirus will not be infected, while the vaccine is effective in reducing the severity of the covid. Getting vaccinated alone is not safe. VK Paul added that everyone should remain vigilant in the event of an increase in covid disease.

Basavaraj Bommai takes over as Karnataka Chief Minister

Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been sworn in. He was sworn in before Governor Tawarchand Gehlot at the Raj Bhavan. After the resignation of BS Yeddyurappa, the BJP assembly party meeting held yesterday elected Basavaraj Bommai as the party leader. Bommai is the 23rd Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Bomme is a leader from the Lingayat community in Uttara Kannada. He is also loyal to Yeddyurappa. Basavaraj, the son of former chief minister SR Bommai, handled home, law, and parliamentary affairs in the Yeddyurappa cabinet.

The Prime Minister congratulated Basavaraj Bommai. He expressed confidence that the new chief minister would be able to continue the special activities of the state BJP government.

This is not the first time in Karnataka that a father and son have become the Chief Minister. HD Deve Gowda and his son HD Kumaraswamy have been the Chief Ministers of Karnataka.

Kishwar: Four people were killed in a cloudburst in Kishwar, Jammu, and Kashmir. The cloudburst occurred at Honsar in Kishwar. About 30 to 40 people are reported missing. 8-9 houses were destroyed.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the SDRF and Army were still searching for the missing. The cloudburst occurred in the Gulberg area last night.

Heavy rains have continued in the Jammu region for the past few days. The Met Office has warned that the rains will continue till the end of July. People living near water bodies were also advised to be vigilant.

Truck hits bus in Uttar Pradesh killed 18

Lucknow: At least 18 people were killed when a truck rammed into a group of workers lying on the roadside. The incident took place in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

The dead were lying in front of a parked bus. The truck, which was speeding on this road in the morning, was going over them.
The deceased were identified as Bihar natives. The bus was returning from Haryana when it crashed on the highway at night. They then lay down on the side of the road in front of the stopped bus.

The truck first hit the back of the bus. The bus and truck then went over to the workers. The injured have been admitted to the hospital, police said.

New Delhi: There is news amid concerns that the third wave of corona will affect children the most. Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia has said that the corona vaccine for children will arrive in India in August.

According to media reports, the health minister announced this at a BJP parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday. Currently, the anti-corona vaccine is only given to adults 18 years of age and older.

The health minister told the meeting that the vaccination of children would start from next month. According to experts, vaccinating children can break down the network of corona infections and reopen schools.
Children in the country are likely to get the corona vaccine by September. The AIIMS chief had said that immunization of children could begin in the country by September.

He added that the Zydus Cadila is awaiting approval for emergency use. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin trial can be completed for children in August or September. Meanwhile, the Pfizer vaccine has received approval from the U.S. Regulator for immediate use, reports said. In such a scenario, the campaign to vaccinate children is expected to start in India by September.

So far, 44 crore doses of the anti-corona vaccine have been given in the country. The government plans to vaccinate all senior citizens across the country by the end of this year.

Entrance tax case against actor Vijay; Pay tax within a week, no penalty for the time being: Madras HC

Chennai: The Madras High Court division bench has stayed the single bench order against actor Vijay in the car entry tax case. The court also directed to pay the prescribed tax within a week. Vijay was also fined Rs 1 lakh. This and the continuation of the motion to remove the references in the judgment will take place on 31st August.

Actor Vijay had informed the Madras High Court while considering the case that he could pay the entry tax. However, all unnecessary references in the previous single bench judgment should be removed. Former Advocate General Vijay Narayan, who appeared for Vijay, told the court that there were no such references in similar cases.

Begging cannot be banned in the country: Supreme Court

New Delhi: Begging cannot be banned in-country, the Supreme court said.  The court ruled that beggars could not be evacuated from public places or traffic points.

A bench headed by Supreme Court Justice DY Chandrachud observed that poverty is the cause of begging and those without poverty do not beg.

The apex court said that no socio-economic problem could be resolved by court order and that the beggars should be rehabilitated.
Orders were issued to send notices to the Central and Delhi Governments in this regard. It is also suggested that beggars be informed of their position on vaccination.

The Supreme Court was considering the public interest litigation. The matter will be considered in two weeks. Judges say the court cannot accept great thinking.
