In a massive delight for luxury car enthusiasts, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced a massive price reduction for its flagship imported models—the Range Rover SV and the Range Rover Sport SV. The company has slashed the prices by up to Rs 75 lakh, proactively passing on the anticipated benefits of the upcoming India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to its customers.
Following the price revision, the top-of-the-line Range Rover SV will now start at Rs 3.50 crore (ex-showroom), down from its previous price tag of Rs 4.25 crore—a staggering reduction of Rs 75 lakh. Meanwhile, the performance-focused Range Rover Sport SV has seen a price drop of Rs 40 lakh, bringing its new starting price to Rs 2.35 crore, down from Rs 2.75 crore.
Alongside the price cuts, JLR has also enhanced the value of the Range Rover SV by including the SV Ultra Metallic paint options (in both gloss and satin finishes) as standard, which were previously paid options.
Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, stated, “In anticipation of the India-UK FTA being implemented, we are pleased to extend its benefits to our clients. The updated pricing underscores our customer-first approach and our commitment to building long-term relationships. We are confident this will allow more clients to experience our highly desirable SV portfolio.”
However, the company clarified that this price drop applies strictly to Completely Built Units (CBUs) imported from the UK. The pricing for locally assembled models like the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport will remain unchanged. Similarly, the prices for the Defender and Discovery models will not be affected, as they are manufactured in Slovakia and fall outside the purview of the India-UK FTA.
