The actress turned heads at the trailer launch of her upcoming Telugu film ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ wearing a cultural masterpiece by designer Archana Jaju.

South Indian cinema’s reigning fashion icon, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has once again left fans and fashion enthusiasts in awe with her latest sartorial choice. Attending the highly anticipated trailer launch of her upcoming Telugu movie Maa Inti Bangaram, the actress chose a timeless route, exuding grace, elegance, and traditional charm in a stunning red handwoven silk saree.

Bringing the ‘Bapu Bomma’ Aesthetic to Life

Samantha’s look was deeply rooted in Indian art, bringing the iconic ‘Bapu Bomma’ aesthetic to life. Inspired by the legendary Indian artist and director Sattiraju Lakshmi Narayana (popularly known as Bapu), the term ‘Bapu Bomma’ (meaning Bapu’s painting or Bapu’s girl) represents the epitome of traditional Telugu femininity—characterized by simplicity, grace, and inner strength. This look marks the debut of ‘The Bapu Bomma Series,’ curated specially for her movie promotions.

250 Hours of Pure Craftsmanship

Designed by the acclaimed designer Archana Jaju, the saree is a true labor of love. It took skilled artisans over 250 hours of meticulous hand-painting to complete the exquisite Kalamkari work on the premium handwoven silk fabric.

  • The Theme: The artwork is centered around the theme of a Veerangana (a warrior woman), beautifully blending beauty with strength.
  • The Motifs: The saree features intricate hand-painted motifs of bows and arrows, swords, traditional bangles, bindis, armbands (bajuband), and elegant floral patterns.
  • The Colors: A rich palette of terracotta and clay red dominates the fabric, elevated by subtle hints of yellow and green.

Elegant Styling

Keeping the focus entirely on the artistic saree, Samantha paired it with a matching red blouse featuring elegant elbow-length sleeves. Her accessories were kept minimal yet impactful, featuring a simple traditional choker necklace and elegant bangles. With her hair tied back neatly and a classic makeup look, she let the heritage attire speak for itself.

Reportedly, Samantha plans to continue showcasing outfits from this culturally rich series throughout the promotional tour of Maa Inti Bangaram. With this breathtaking appearance, she has not only set a new benchmark for movie promotional looks but has also beautifully celebrated traditional Indian craftsmanship on a grand stage.
