Collector has taken over Piravom Church; Protested Jacobites were arrested

Piravom: The Syrian Church of St. Mary’s Jacobites Church, Piravom took over the Ernakulam Collector. The Jacobites who had been protesting for hours arrested. Police arrested the protesters after unlocking the main gate. Following dramatic developments in the area where heavy tensions have been looming since Thursday morning. The police force accompanied the believers to impose the Supreme Court order. With this, the tension in the Church for two days has come to a halt.

The Orthodox sector entered the Church on Wednesday after a Supreme Court ruling. However, the Orthodox sect announced that it would not leave the Church and that the Jacobite sect would not return. The police then withdrew by Wednesday night, banning 67 people from entering the Church for two months.

The High Court on Thursday considered the petition filed by the Orthodox plea demanding Supreme Court’s verdict to be in action. About two thousand family members were present at the time.

The Jacobite faction said that they could not leave the mosque despite a court order. The bishops insisted that they would not be separated and that if necessary, the arrest would be over. The forcible removal of protesting priests and church leaders has angered the believers.

The bishops have said that the police and the district administration must comply with the court directive. The proceedings that began at 1 pm ended in 50 minutes and the police shut down the church, release all the Jacobite believers.

“We will report to the court on Friday at 10:15 am and will discuss the matter with legal experts,” said the Collector. “The orthodox community will be provided with a place of worship and security on the direction of the court,” he said.

Criminal cases against Maradu flat builders; Bank accounts frozen

Kochi: Police have registered a criminal case against several illegal flat builders in Maradu. Criminal cases filed against the owners of five companies. Their bank accounts were frozen. The case is being filed against company owners. The cabinet meeting on Wednesday had decided to seek compensation from the manufacturers.

Meanwhile, the state government has appointed a new officer to demolish the flats. Fort Kochi Sub-Collector Snehil Kumar Singh is in charge. He was given the charge of the Maradu Municipal Secretary. The government has announced the timely demolition process. The government will also consider rehabilitating the owners.

KSEB issued notice on disconnection of power supply in flats to be demolished. The power supply is disconnected before the flat breaks down. In a report to the Cabinet, Chief Secretary Tom Jose said that the demolition of flats in the woods would result in the demolition of more flats built by violating the law.

The report also states that buildings constructed by government special concessions may have to be demolished. He has applied for a waiver on more building law. However, the chief secretary said that the concession cannot be granted.

Iran release British oil tanker

Manama: Iran releases Stena Impero, a British oil vessel that was seized two months ago. The ship was reported to have left the Iranian coast on Tuesday.

Government spokesman Ali Rabi said Monday that all legal procedures have been completed and that the vessel will leave the shore. The ship was detained at Iran’s Bandar Abbas Port. Tankertrackers.com reported on Twitter, quoting satellite footage that Stena Impero has left the coast of Iran.

The Iranian ship was captured on July 19 near the Strait of Hormuz. It was accused of violating international maritime transport laws. The Stene Impero, registered in London and carrying the flag of Britain, is owned by Sweden. Iran has reacted to Britain’s capture of an Iranian oil tanker off the coast of Gibraltar.

Before the capture of Iran, the ship had 23 crew members, including 18 Indians. In this Iran released seven workers, including five Indians, on September 4. The crew did not release 16 crew members, including 13 Indians, two Russians, and one Philippine native.

New officer in charge of demolishing Maradu flat

Kochi: The state government has appointed a new officer to demolish the Maradu flat. Fort Kochi Sub-Collector Snehil Kumar Singh is in charge. The IAS officer was given the task of removing the municipal secretary. The move comes after the Supreme Court took a strict stand on the issue. It has also been suggested that timely demolition procedures be initiated.

The HC had earlier rejected the plea of the owners of the timber flat. The plea against eviction from the flat was rejected. The action was taken by the Supreme Court. The High Court said the Supreme Court action is a response to violators. The court also asked the chief secretary to give an affidavit on Friday demanding that when will the flats to be demolished.

Earthquake in India and Pakistan; Seven dies in 6.3 Magnitude Quake

New Delhi: The quake was felt in Delhi, Chandigarh, Kashmir and other parts of Pakistan, including Islamabad. The earthquake shook around 4.35 pm. The magnitude of the shaking was 6.3 on the Richter scale. At least seven died in the quake in Pakistan, reports said.

The quake has been reported in Mirpur, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The roads were split up and many people were injured. Besides, a building collapsed in the quake. Fifty people were injured in the accident.

No casualties or significant damage has been reported anywhere in India. Private agencies have reported that the epicenter of the earthquake is in Pakistan’s occupied Kashmir.

Home Minister Amit Shah launches new multi-purpose identity card for citizens of India.

Amit Shah has come up with the idea for Aadhaar, voter card, and passport information. Amit Shah has announced that he will begin the process of registering for national citizenship by 2020.

Speaking at an event in Delhi, Amit Shah said the central government aims to digitize the entire 2021 census. The Home Minister said the central government is considering the concept of Aadhaar, bank account information, driving license, passport, and voter card information.

The minister said the data would be collected using the mobile app at the 2021 census. This will be the step from the paper census to the digital census. The 2021 census is estimated to cost Rs 12,000 crore.
