Thiruvananthapuram: Hurricane Umpun will turn as tornado called Emphan in the southeast Bay of Bengal over the next six hours. Hurricane is expected to reach 200 km / h. Thiruvananthapuram: Four flights will arrive in Kerala on Sunday, the second day of the second phase of the Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate the stranded citizens after the COVID 19 lockdown. There will be three flights from the UAE and one from Oman. More than 700 expatriates in four flights will arrive in the country today.

The flights are Dubai-Kochi, Muscat-Thiruvananthapuram, Abu Dhabi-Kochi, and Dubai-Kannur.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state is incomplete lockdown today. Only shops selling essential items are permitted. The DGP said that only the essential issues should be released by the public. A special check by the police to monitor those who live in the quarantine at home will still be on. The state government will make changes to the exemptions and restrictions as per the decision of the central government after the phase-III lockdown.

Wayanad, where most patients are treated in the state, continues to be vigilant. There are currently 17 patients undergoing treatment. Besides, eight people were hospitalized with symptoms. A total of 2,157 persons were observed in the district. Due to the spread of disease in tribal areas, various Panchayats in Mananthavady taluk has been closed and strict vigilance is being continued. Lorries collide; 24 migrant workers died

Lucknow: At least 24 Migrant workers were killed and 13 others injured in a truck collision this morning.

Several people were injured in the accident that occurred at about 3.30 am on Saturday. Migrant workers were returning from Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh.

The crash was attributed to the speeding of both lorries. The lorries were from Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Home Ministry has directed the state governments to stop migrant workers from returning to their homes on foot.

But migrant workers from many parts of the country are still returning home. The Supreme Court had on Tuesday said that they cannot prevent the migrant workers and the state government should take action in this regard. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that train and bus services had started to accommodate the migrant workers.

PSC exams to be held from June; LDC and Last Grade exams before November

Thiruvananthapuram: The postponed PSC exams will restart by June. The exams are scheduled to begin in June, authorities said.

The tests will be carried out with stringent conditions prescribed by the Department of Health to combat the infection.

PSC has decided to conduct small exams online at its examination centers. The majority of applicants are OMR. The exams are scheduled to start in August.

PSC has decided to conduct 26 exams for 62 posts in March, April and May. All preparations for these exams were completed. Assurance of writing the exams was obtained from the applicants and question papers were prepared. These can be difficult to keep. So postponement tests should be conducted as soon as possible. PSC says applicants are yet to be given an opportunity. The meeting has been decided.

Last Grade has 6.90 lakh applicants in 14 districts. It was initially scheduled to be launched in September. But it is likely to take place in October or November. The current rank list for the Last Grade is due on June 29, 2021. The exams for LP and UP teachers also need to be conducted this year.

Railways to allow trains to Kerala
