Lucknow: Three inmates were killed in a shooting at a UP jail in Lucknow. One of the inmates shot and killed two people, and police opened fire on the inmate.
The incident took place at 10 am at the district jail in Chitrakoot. One of the prisoners opened fire on Mukim Kala, a goon leader in western UP, and Mirasuddin, a don in eastern UP. The two were killed by trial prisoner Ansul Dixit. Ansul was shot dead by police in an encounter at the jail. Senior jail officials arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
Kala is the goonda leader of western UP. Kala, who ruled Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and western UP, was jailed on several charges.
Kochi: In the wake of the Covid expansion, the High Court has decided to make the court proceedings fully online after the mid-summer recess. The decision was made to file cases online and to conduct sittings through video conferencing.
The physical copy of the case must be submitted within 45 days of the resumption of court proceedings. A special application should be filed to consider cases of urgent nature during this period. The court will soon issue detailed guidelines regarding filing.

New Delhi: The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the trial of Covaxin in children between the ages of two and 18 years. Permission has been granted for two- and three-phase trails. Vaccine maker Bharat Biotech said it would test 525 healthy volunteers. This is the first time in India that a Covid vaccine is being tested in children.
The subject expert committee had permitted the experiment in children yesterday. It is suggested that the third phase be started only after the results of the second phase. Children should be given two doses at intervals of zero to 28 days. The AIIMS- Delhi and Patna branch will conduct the experiments at the Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences and Nagpur.
At the same time, the US, after Canada, approved the Pfizer vaccine for children between the ages of 12 and 15. The indication is that it will be given from tomorrow. Many countries have already started giving the Pfizer vaccine to people over the age of 16.
