Kodakara Hawala case taken over by ED

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thrissur Kodakara hawala case has been taken over by the Enforcement Directorate. Proceedings have started at the Delhi headquarters. An IRS officer of the rank of Deputy Director is in charge of the investigation. The case will be preliminarily investigated and further investigated.

The Kochi unit team is investigating the case. As it is a case of money laundering, it will come under the purview of the ED.

The accused had shared the money before they were arrested. Investigators have found that the money was used to live a life of luxury. But the defendants have used the money for many other purposes.

UAE extends ban on travelers from India till July 6

Kochi: The UAE has extended the ban on travelers from India till July 6. Air India Express has announced that the ban has been extended except for UAE nationals.

The notice says that those who have taken tickets for travel during the period should renew their travel time.

Earlier, the UAE had announced a travel ban until June 30. UAE citizens, Golden Visas, and members of embassies are exempt from the ban.

The UAE banned Indian services on April 24 following the rise of Covid in India. Passenger service from UAE to India will not be barred. Services and cargo services to India via the UAE are not banned.

Sanitizer manufacturing plant catches fire in Pune; 18 deaths

Pune: A huge fire broke out at a sanitizer manufacturing factory in Pune, Maharashtra. 18 people died in the accident. Several people are missing. The fire brigade said rescue operations were continuing for them.

The fire broke out at SVS Aqua Technology’s sanitizer manufacturing facility around 6 pm. About 37 workers were in the company at the time of the accident. The fire broke out while packing plastic. The workers could not escape because of the smoke.

The vaccine will get at free of cost; PM
