Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court has remanded Bineesh Kodiyeri’s bail application in a money laundering case in Bangalore. This is the tenth time the court has adjourned the petition for various reasons. When Bineesh’s lawyer asked for time to argue today, the court replied that it was a case that needed to be heard in detail. Bineesh’s lawyer was allowed to appear in detail next Wednesday and ED on Thursday. Bineesh spent 234 days in jail in the case.

The ED’s reply to Bineesh’s explanation regarding the source of more than Rs 5 crore in the account is yet to take place. Bineesh, who was arrested in October 2020, is remanded in Parappana Agrahara Jail.

Vigilance has also started an investigation against Assistant MVI S Kiran Kumar, who is in remand in connection with Vismaya’s death. Kiran’s illicit transactions and illegal acquisition of property are under investigation. Kiran is currently an Assistant VMI at the Kollam Enforcement RTO.

A preliminary inspection as part of Kiran’s fraudulent dealings at work revealed some inconsistencies. Earlier, Kiran Aryankavu worked at a check post. This time there was a vigilance check.

The investigation is now a continuation of this. Vigilance received information that Kiran had earned money by misleading while working at the check post that day. Vigilance found some information against Kiran.

Vigilance is now investigating based on this. The source of the money in Kiran’s bank accounts is also being investigated. Kiran’s accounts with new generation banks will also be checked. Earlier, while Kiran was in the Kollam Enforcement RTO, it was alleged that he had leaked the details of several special drives and taken the money. This matter is also included in the investigation.

Thiruvananthapuram: More lockdown concessions have been announced in the state. Shrines can be opened in local bodies with test positive rates below 16%. The television series will start shooting with covid restrictions. The government is also considering allowing those who take two doses to enter the tourism sector.

Local bodies will continue to be regulated based on test positivity rates. Further concessions are available where TPR is up to 16%. Lockdowns will be imposed on 16th to 24th and triple lockdowns on 24th and above. Government agencies will have 50 percent staff in areas with a TPR of up to 16 percent and 25 percent staff in areas up to 24 percent. Shrines will be open in the A and B categories. Only 15 people are allowed. Banks will also be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No public access on these two days.

About 300 people a day will be allowed through the virtual queue. But devotees will not have access to the Nalambalam.
