New Delhi: The Supreme Court has lashed out at former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for making anti-prophet remarks. The court asked Nupur Sharma to apologize to the nation and accused Nupur Sharma of being responsible for the Udaipur incident.

The Supreme Court asked why the matter under consideration of the court was discussed on the TV channel and criticized the delay in withdrawing the reference. The court said that he should have apologized to the country and accused Nupur Sharma of being responsible for all the untoward incidents in the country.

The court mocked the police investigation and criticized Nupur Sharma for getting a red carpet. The court accused Nupur’s influence that the arrest was not made. Nupur Sharma approached the Supreme Court demanding that the cases against him be transferred to Delhi.

Covid cases rise in 110 countries’; World Health Organization issued warning

Anthrax confirmed in wild boars in Thrissur Athirapally; Health Minister said that immediate action has been taken for prevention

Thrissur: Anthrax has been confirmed in wild boars in Thrissur’s Athirapally forest area. The disease was confirmed in a sample test conducted after wild boars had died here. People who removed the wild boar are under surveillance.
Health Minister Veena George informed that people should be careful not to go to those places and not to handle dead bodies of animals, including wild boars. The Minister also requested that they inform the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, Health Department or Forest Department.

In Thrissur district, a review meeting has been held in this regard and preventive measures have been intensified. Animal Welfare Department has taken steps to start vaccination of animals.

Electricity cable fell on auto; 8 people burned to death

Hyderabad: Eight people died after an 11 KV power line fell on an auto-rickshaw in Sathyasai district of Andhra Pradesh. The auto-rickshaw carrying agricultural laborers hit the electricity pole.

The incident happened around 7 am. The auto rickshaw which was carrying farm laborers hit the wire. Then the electric line fell on the auto and eight people were burnt to death. The accident happened to Gudampally natives who were laborers who were going to Chillakondaiyapally by auto from Tadimari Mandal Buddapally. Reports are that there were ten people in the auto-rickshaw. The condition of two injured persons is critical.

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. 2 lakhs has been announced as a relief to the families of the injured. The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that it will conduct a detailed investigation into the accident.

Ban on plastic products from tomorrow

New Delhi: The ban on single-use plastic products will come into effect tomorrow.  The central government has decided to strictly implement the ban.
A special team will be appointed for the inspection. The ban on plastic carry bags below 75 microns came into effect on September 30 last year, and the ban on carry bags below 120 microns on December 31. Consequently, single-use plastic products are banned.

Seven dead in a landslide in Imphal; 55 people are missing

Imphal: At least seven were killed in a landslide in Manipur’s Imphal. 55 people are missing. The incident happened around midnight on Wednesday.

The landslide occurred near the Tupul Yard Railway Construction Camp where the soldiers were staying. It is reported that the injured are soldiers and workers.

Officials said the death toll is likely to rise. It is reported that 13 people have been rescued. Army sources said that the rescue operation is going on. The people who came here to help in the construction of the railway line met with the accident.

The rescued people are being taken to the army medical unit and are being treated. Rescue operations are challenging as heavy rain continues in the area. The rescue operation is progressing by deploying a helicopter.

Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that an emergency meeting has been called to assess the situation of the landslide. Search and rescue operations are underway. Police officials said that the identity of the body recovered on Thursday morning has not yet been identified. People have been evacuated from the disaster-affected area.

The Noni Deputy Commissioner said the landslide had blocked the Ijai River flowing through Tamenglong and Noni Districts, creating a dam-like situation that would wreak havoc in the low-lying areas of Noni District if it collapsed.

Officials also advise travelers to avoid the Imphal-Jiri highway. The rescue operation of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles is in progress. Officials say fresh landslides and bad weather are hampering rescue operations in the area.

The apex court heard the petition at 5 pm on Wednesday and dismissed it after a three-and-a-half hour long hearing. Uddhav then went live on Facebook at 9.30 am and announced his resignation.

 Uddhav decided to step down after being assured that a majority would not be possible if a no-confidence vote was held on Thursday. The cabinet of the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress (Mahavikas-Akhadi) alliance came to power in November 2019.

46 killed in a truck accident in Texas

In Texas, 46 people were found dead inside a tractor-trailer. The bodies were found inside an 18-wheeler on Quintana Road in San Antonio. Sixteen survivors were rushed to hospitals.

The tractor-trailer was abandoned in a remote area near the railway tracks. Reports say the driver is in hiding.

Officers and first responders checked through the train track with thermal imaging cameras to find survivors and the driver. The temperature in San Antonio rose to 103 degrees as the heat wave continued. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that if the temperature outside is 75 degrees, the temperature inside a vehicle can reach 115 degrees.

Preliminary reports put the death toll at 20. This is the biggest immigration disaster in recent years.
