New Delhi: Journalist and co-founder of Alt News, a fact-checking website, Mohammad Zubair has been granted bail by a Delhi court. The Patiala House Court granted bail to Zubair in a case filed by the Delhi Police on charges that he had hurt religious sentiments in his tweet in 2018. Additional Sessions Court Judge Devendra Kumar Jangala granted bail on one surety of Rs 50,000 and a condition not to leave the country without the permission of the court.
Zubair, who was arrested, approached the Sessions Court after the Metropolitan Magistrate denied him bail on July 2. Zubair, who was arrested on June 27, is currently in Delhi Police custody. The Supreme Court had earlier granted bail to Zubair in the case registered by the Uttar Pradesh Police, but he could not be released from jail as he remained in custody in the case registered by the Delhi Police. Six cases have been registered against him in UP. Yesterday, Zubair filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking its cancellation. It is suggested that Zubair will remain in jail as these cases are pending.

Actor Sreejith Ravi granted bail in POCSO case
Kochi: Sreejith Ravi was granted bail in POCSO case. Bail was granted by the High Court. Bail was granted in the case of performing nudity in front of children.
The bail was granted by accepting the argument that he is undergoing treatment for a personality disorder. The court also directed that Sreejith Ravi’s wife and father should submit an affidavit that they will provide necessary treatment for personality disorder. Maharashtra rains; The death toll has risen to 83 and 353 have been displaced
Mumbai: As heavy rain continues in Maharashtra, the death toll due to the monsoon has risen to 83. 6 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Two people are missing. 95 people were relocated. So far 353 people have been evacuated. Ghatcharoli was the worst affected.

Gujarat Riot Case; Former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt arrested
Ahmedabad: Former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt, who is in jail, has been arrested in a new case taken after the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Gujarat riots case. The arrest was made by the Special Investigation Team of the Gujarat Police. The police accused Sanjeev Bhatt of implicating innocent people in the 2002 Gujarat riots case.
It is indicated that the arrest is in the case of conspiring to trap innocent people in the riot case. Sanjay Bhatt has been lodged in Palanpur Jail since 2018 in a case 27 years ago. Deputy Commissioner Chaityana Mandilik said that Sanjeev Bhatt was arrested from Palanpur Jail on a transfer warrant. Last month, a special team was appointed to investigate the case of fake evidence in the Gujarat riots.
After Teesta Setalwad and RB Sreekumar, Sanjeev Bhatt is the third person to be arrested recently in connection with the Gujarat riots. Heavy rains in Gujarat; Death toll so far stands at 63

Ahmedabad: Seven people died in the last 24 hours due to heavy rains in Gujarat. Since June 1, the death toll has reached 63. Power cut in 66 villages. 3200 people were evacuated from Chhotauddepur, Navsari and Nalsad. Doswada dam overflowed. 9000 people were displaced.

Mumbai: The IMD has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the eastern districts of Maharashtra in the coming days.
In the state, Kolhapur, Palghar, Nashik, Pune, and Ratnagiri districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall till July 14, the meteorological department said. A red alert has been declared in these areas. A warning has also been issued in Mumbai for the next 3 days. A total of 76 people have died and 838 houses have been damaged due to incessant rains in Maharashtra. Deaths were caused by lightning, landslides, and falling trees. About 125 cattle have also died, the State Disaster Management Authority said.
Three people are also reported missing in the Gadchiroli district. The continued heavy rains have caused the water level of several rivers in Nashik district to rise. Mumbai and neighboring areas have been reporting moderate rainfall for the past few days. But the rains are expected to intensify in the coming days. An orange alert has been announced in the city.

A statement issued by the District Information Office (DIO) said that in the last three days, three persons were swept away in the Gadchiroli district of eastern Maharashtra and their bodies were later recovered.
