New Delhi: The Ministry of Health has reviewed the preventive measures of various hospitals and agencies in the country in the wake of the spread of coronavirus in China. The measures were taken at a meeting chaired by Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan.

 Officials from various states in the five states that share the border with Nepal evaluated the preparations. Travelers who show signs of coronavirus symptoms should be advised to avoid travel, a 24-hour helpline number 011- 23978046 should be contacted said the Health Ministry. As of January 26, 3,756 passengers were inspected at Mumbai International Airport. Samples of 12 persons have been sent for testing at the National Virology Institute, Pune. Each person from China has been admitted to a hospital in Jaipur and Patna. A Chinese national who arrived on a tourist visa has been placed in an isolation ward in Kolkata. There are 288 people in Kerala. Five out of seven people diagnosed with the disease are negative. The results of the two may come in two days. Meanwhile, people from China and other countries arrived in Kerala for the next 28 days

Brazil: Fourteen people have died after a heavy downpour in Minas Gerais. More than 20 people are reported missing. All the dead are from the metropolitan areas of Belo Horizonte, Iberite and Betim.

Beijing: China’s death toll has risen to 56 this year due to the rapidly spreading coronavirus virus. In Hubei province, 13 people died due to the virus. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country rose to 1985 after 323 cases were confirmed. It has been confirmed that more cases of coronavirus infection, similar to SARS, have been reported.

More cases are being reported from Beijing and Shanghai. The National Health Commission (NCH) reports that 1757 cases have been confirmed in over 30 Chinese provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. The NCHH said 2684 suspected coronavirus cases and 324 cases were serious.

India on Saturday released a new travel itinerary to avoid trips from India to China unless there is an emergency. India has begun the process of repatriating Indians from various parts of China, including Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus. Countries like the US, France, and Russia have begun the process of returning citizens.China said it had stepped up its preventive measures to control the rapidly spreading coronavirus. The Communist Party of China’s Politburo Standing Committee on Saturday decided to set up a committee to monitor defense and control measures. It has also been decided to send more medical teams immediately to areas where the epidemic has been reported, including Hubei.
