Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shailaja today said that Covid 19 has been confirmed to 20 in Kerala. Eight patients were reported from Kannur and seven from Kasaragod district. Of these, 18 were from overseas. 2 people contracted the disease. A patient diagnosed with Thiruvananthapuram district is undergoing isolation ICU at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. A health worker from Ernakulam district has been diagnosed with the disease.

Four of the patients in Pathanamthitta district had negative results. In Kerala, 202 cases have been confirmed so far. At present, 181 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals in the state.

With the spread of Covid 19 in 201 countries and the onset of the disease in Kerala, 1,41,211 people are under observation in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,40,618 are under observation in homes and 593 in hospitals. A sample of 6690 individuals with symptoms was sent for testing. Of the 5518 test results are negative.

Train coaches to become isolation ward

New Delhi: In the wake of the Coronavirus spreading, the Indian Railway gives the train coaches for converting it as isolation wards to fight against Corona. As per the decision, they converted a coach of a train as an isolation ward.

If getting permission, 10 coaches of the train every week will become isolation ward in each zone, authorities said.

This will be helpful for those rural areas’ insufficient health facilities. Along with the wards, ventilators will be set up, reports added.

The LHB coaches will be converted as the wards.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan says that Covid- 19 have been confirmed for six more in the state today. In Thiruvananthapuram, two persons were diagnosed with the disease, one each in Kollam, Malappuram, Palakkad and Kasaragod districts.

“Four people have been cured today,” he said in a press conference. Two foreigners from Kottayam, one from Thiruvananthapuram and one foreigner who was undergoing treatment at Ernakulam, have been discharged.

With this, the total number of patients in the state is 165. There are 1,34,370 people under surveillance. 148 people were admitted to the hospital today. Surveillance should remain strong. We need to check if there is social spread. CM said that the government has decided to conduct a rapid test.

Meanwhile, the first corona death in Kerala has been confirmed. The 69-year-old died while undergoing treatment in Kochi. He was undergoing treatment at the Kalamassery Medical College Hospital. He was in Dubai on the 16th of this month. His wife was also diagnosed with COVID-19 disease.

The deceased has been under treatment since March 22. He was treated for heart disease and high blood pressure.

New Delhi: Saudi Arabia has chalked out a Virtual Summit of G20 countries to implement a $ 5 trillion package to tackle the financial crisis caused by corona disease. Leaders said the world would come together to fight against Corona.

In a joint resolution, the leaders said the economic package was meant to protect workers and large-scale businesses in various areas affected by the disease. Together with the World Health Organization, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations will support the world.

Leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held a summit in their country through video conferencing.

US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke at the summit presided over by King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
