New Delhi: In Maharashtra, 13 patients were burnt to death in a fire at Covid Hospital. The fire broke out at Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar in Palghar district this morning. The initial conclusion was that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the air conditioner in the intensive care unit. All of the dead were Covid patients. The death toll is expected to rise further, according to national media reports. Rescue workers, including firefighters, are still working. The injured were shifted to another hospital.

New Delhi: Twenty-five Covid patients have died in 24 hours at the Gangaram Hospital in Delhi due to severe oxygen shortage, hospital officials said. 60 people are in critical condition. The hospital has only two hours to provide oxygen. The medical director also demanded that oxygen be delivered as soon as possible.

Various hospitals in Delhi have already come out with reports of oxygen scarcity. In the last few days, oxygen has been delivered for emergencies. But now there is a situation where even that is not available. Oxygen shortages began to affect smaller hospitals as well. Many hospitals are preparing to approach the High Court for access to oxygen. Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has directed the states not to obstruct vehicles carrying oxygen. The Delhi High Court had earlier reprimanded the Center for exacerbating the shortage of oxygen in hospitals following the outbreak.

In Delhi, it was decided to reduce the Covid test to only symptomatic health workers. Only those who have been diagnosed with the disease are advised to stay in quarantine. The new decision comes in the wake of a shortage of health workers. The decision was taken at a Covid review meeting chaired by the AIIMS director.

Covid intensified; Quarantine Isolation Guidelines revised

Thiruvananthapuram: The health department has revised the Covid-19 quarantine isolation guidelines in the state. The person confirmed by Covid will be treated according to the treatment criteria as decided by the doctor. According to the standards, unnecessary trips and social interactions should be avoided for up to seven days after discharge.

Fourteen days quarantine for those in primary contact. Those on the list are advised to contact Direction 1056 or the nearest health worker if they have any symptoms. The details of the guidelines are as follows:

14 days room quarantine at home or institution for those most at risk through primary contact.
If there are no symptoms, and RTPCR test should be performed on the eighth day. Even if the result is negative, the quarantine should be continued for another 7 days. The person in the primary contact should avoid unnecessary trips for 1 to 4 days, wear a mask, clean hands, and strictly adhere to hygiene during carrying and sneezing.

Avoid social interactions such as weddings, other ceremonies, work, and visits.
RTPCR as per Central Government guidelines on the arrival of international travelers in Kerala. Inspect and sit in isolation at home. Treatment should be sought according to the test results. Monitor for seven days for symptoms, even if negative. 

Must register one-Jagratal portal and produce RTPCR negative test result within 48 hours. Those who have not done the RTPCR test should undergo the RTPCR test as soon as they arrive in Kerala and stay in room quarantine till the result is received.

Even if the RTPCR test result is negative, comply with the Covid standards.
If the RTPCR does not perform the test, the room must be under quarantine for 14 days.

People over the age of 18 can register for the vaccine on the Cowin platform from April 24

New Delhi: Registration for the latest round of vaccinations will reportedly open on the Cowin platform in the next 48 hours. Accordingly, people over the age of 18 can register for the vaccine on the Cowin platform from April 24.
Under the new vaccine rules, states and private companies can buy vaccines directly for vaccination.
Vaccination will continue to be given to those who have already been declared eligible, including senior workers, health workers, and those over 45 years of age.

Private vehicles and taxis are available. Passengers arriving at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals should carry their travel documents with them. 

Saritha S Nair arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: Saritha S Nair was arrested in the solar scam case. Kozhikode police arrested him from Thiruvananthapuram. The reason for the arrest was that he did not appear in court regularly.
Saritha was arrested by Kozhikode Kasaba police from Thiruvananthapuram. She will be produced in court today. She is accused of buying a solar panel for Rs 42.70 lakh.

Ashish Yechury, son of Sitaram Yechury, died of Covid

New Delhi: Ashish Yechury, son of CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury, has died. He was 33 years old. He succumbed to Covid at a private hospital in Delhi. The situation was critical this morning and the death occurred. Sitaram Yechury was under self-observation after his son was infected with  Covid  Yechury did not participate in the election campaign in West Bengal.

West Bengal elections: Sixth phase today

Kolkata: The sixth phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls will begin today amid a sharp Covid expansion. The verdict will be given in 43 constituencies in four districts. A total of 306 candidates are contesting.
Polling will be held today in 17 constituencies in North 24 Parganas, eight constituencies in East Bardhaman, and nine constituencies each in Nadia and Uttar Dinajpur districts. As many as 1.03 crore voters will cast their ballots in 10,897 polling booths. The campaign ended on Monday on the instructions of the Election Commission. Heavy security has been put in place as there is a risk of clashes.
