Britain relaxes covid regulations to the countries including India

London: Britain announces relaxation of covid restrictions on travelers from countries including India. The exemption comes after India was removed from the red list. The revised exemptions will take effect from August 8. India, which has been red listed is currently on the amber list. The revised regulations make it clear that Institutional Quarantine is no longer mandatory for Indians arriving in the country after receiving a two-dose vaccine.

In addition to India, Bahrain, Georgia, Mexico, the UAE, and Qatar have moved from the red to the amber list. Travelers from these countries can now stay in the UK for up to 10 days under the self-monitoring of their choice. If the test is negative after five days, the quarantine will end.

The UK government included India in the ‘Red’ list in April in the wake of the second wave of the covid-19 epidemic gripping the South Asian country. ‘Red’ list travel was banned and 10 days of compulsory hotel quarantine was made mandatory for returning British residents.

He said the issuing of ration cards to transgender people without ration cards is under consideration.

However, the Opposition had criticized the Food Minister for delivering Onam food kit to actor Maniyan Pillai Raju’s house.

Tokyo: Another silver for India at the Tokyo Olympics. In the men’s 57 kg category, India’s Ravikumar Dahiya lost to Savur Uguyev of the Russian Olympic Committee. Score: 4-7. Ravi Kumar came out on top against the world champion in a fierce fight that lasted till the last minute.

It was India’s second silver and sixth medal in Tokyo. This is the second medal won today. The Indian team had won bronze in men’s hockey in the morning. Meerabhai Chanu won the first silver.

Ravikumar Dahiya, a 24 – year – old Indian freestyle wrestler, won a bronze medal in the 57 kg category at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships and qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Ravikumar, who was trailing 2-0 in the first match, later battled it out. But Zaur has previously been a two-time world champion for Russia.

Isolated heavy rains will continue in the state; Yellow alert in Idukki and Kozhikode

Thiruvananthapuram: The southwest monsoon was weak in the state. Apart from isolated rainfall in some parts of Kerala and Lakshadweep, the state generally received less rainfall. Hosdurg in Kasaragod district and the western part of Wayanad district received the maximum rainfall of 3 cm. Ponnani and Vadakara received 2 cm of rainfall. Similar weather will continue in the state in the coming days.

Isolated thundershowers are expected in the state for the next five days, according to the Meteorological Department. It will continue to rain in many parts of Lakshadweep till August 9. The state has issued heavy rain warnings on August 06, 07, and 08 and thundershowers on August 08 and 09.

A yellow alert has been issued in two districts of the state in the coming days because of the possibility of heavy rains. The meteorological department has issued yellow alerts in Kozhikode district on August 6 and in Idukki district on August 07 and 08. The possibility of isolated heavy rains is forecast.

Thiruvananthapuram: The lockdown rules in the state are changing drastically. The TPR-based lockdown system will be changed to take into account the number of people per thousand who are ill. If more than ten out of 1000 patients have a week, the area will be in a triple lockdown. Elsewhere, the lockdown will only be on Sundays. The shops here are open for six days. The working hours of the shops have been reduced from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Onam and Independence Day are on Sundays. There will be no weekend lockdown on those two days.

Meanwhile, the ban on gathering will continue in the state. Large areas of worship can only accommodate a maximum of 40 people. Only a maximum of 20 people is allowed at weddings and funerals.

The health minister said those who visit shops and other business establishments should take the RTPCR test or take two doses of the vaccine.

The state government is preparing to intensify the vaccination drive in the state. According to the health minister, the plan is to vaccinate one crore, people, a month. It can be given if the correct doses are received from the Central Government

Until now, the lockdown has been based on the formation of micro-containment zones based on TPR. It’s changing that, and it’s becoming a much-criticized control model when it comes to adjusting the controls to look at how many people in 1000 have contracted the covid disease.

The all-India average is 1.3 percent. There is about 7 lakh test per million in Kerala. In India, it is only around three lakh. TPR in the state is 12 percent. At the national level, it is around six percent. The Health Minister said that the second wave of covid arrived in Kerala only late and the number of patients is increasing due to this reason.

Abu Dhabi: UAE visa holders will be allowed to return from the 5th of this month. This has been made clear in the new order which relaxes the conditions imposed on persons from India. Those who have been vaccinated with the Covid vaccine will be able to return to the UAE from the fifth day, according to a report released by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday.

The UAE has banned visitors from countries including India in the wake of rising covid cases. Only those who have received at least 14 days after receiving the second dose of covid vaccine approved by the UAE will be able to re-enter. Apart from India, similar exemptions have been granted to people from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda. The order also states that a certificate proving that the vaccine has been received should be kept on the trip.

Health workers, including doctors, nurses and technicians working in the UAE, working in universities, colleges and other educational institutions in the UAE, students in the UAE, those with valid residency on humanitarian grounds, and all working in federal and local government agencies.
