Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains with thunder in ten districts in the next three hours. Isolated showers are expected in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Palakkad districts. A yellow alert has been issued in four districts of the state. The yellow alert is in Kottayam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph along the Kerala-Karnataka Lakshadweep coast from tomorrow to Tuesday.

Kozhikode: Two and a half kg of gold was seized from two passengers in Karipur. Fasin from Unnikulam, Kozhikode, and Abdul Basit from Nilambur, Malappuram have been arrested for smuggling gold. Gold worth Rs 1.5 crore was seized, authorities said.

Kozhikode: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the parallel telephone exchange case within two weeks in the wake of the terrorist links. The NIA team went to the Kozhikode District Crime Branch office and collected information related to the case. With the NIA taking over the case, the probe will likely be extended to more people.

Earlier, the probe team had found links between Pakistan, China and Bangladesh through parallel telephone exchanges to and from India. The investigation team found that these routes were used for terrorist activities.

The statement of Ibrahim Pullotil, who was arrested in the case, was also revealing. The investigation team also suspects that there was an attempt to leak, including military moves.

Kochi: The Central government has said that concessions cannot be given during the intervals given by the corona vaccine. The Central Government informed this in the Kerala High Court.

Kitex had filed a petition in the High Court seeking to reduce the intervals of 84 days after taking the first dose of Covshield. The government has made its position clear while considering this. The government said it would decide on the intervals after further assessments.

New Delhi: Supreme Court stays Kerala state Plus One exam. The court stayed the examination for a week.

The Supreme Court has stayed the exam which was decided to start the examination from September 5. The action was taken by a bench headed by Justice A.M. Khanwilker.

Kollam: The court again rejected the second bail application of Kiran Kumar, who is in jail in the Vismaya dowry death case. The court observed that Kiran Kumar was not eligible for bail. Kollam District Sessions Judge KV Jayakumar rejected his bail application.

The prosecution’s demand for a speedy trial is justified. The court also ruled that individual liberty and the social relevance of the allegations must be balanced.

Kiran Kumar was dismissed from government service. Kirankumar claimed that it was illegal for the Department of Motor Vehicles to convict him before the court finds him guilty. But the court did not accept this. With the omission of Adv.BA Alur, Adv. Prathapa Chandran was present.

Vismaya was found hanging on June 21 at her husband’s house in Poruvazhi, Kollam. Dowry torture is alleged to be a subsequent murder. Kiran has been charged with dowry abuse and domestic violence.
