New Delhi: The Center has revised the list of essential medicines. Medicines for covid, cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis, and diabetes were included in the list.
With the inclusion of 39 commonly used drugs in the list, the price will go down. Sixteen drugs, including ineffective antibiotics, have been dropped from the list of essential drugs. It is reported that the price of cancer drugs will go down by up to 80 percent.
Most of the drugs on the list are used to treat cancer. The list goes on and on about the most commonly used azacitidine and Floxuridine for cancer treatment. Dolutegravir and Darunavir-Ritonavir, which are used to treat HIV, are also cheaper. Ivermectin, which is used to treat covid, is also on the list.
The Central Government updates the list of essential medicines every five years. Along with this, steps are being taken, including setting limits on the price of medicines. The list is prepared by the Pharmaceutical Department under the Ministry of Fertilizers.
