Canberra: Australia approves the Covisheild vaccine.  Australia approves the Covisheild vaccine for international travel. The announcement was made by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Australia has previously approved the Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Modena, and Jannsen vaccines.

The Prime Minister announced that the borders would be reopened and international travel would be resumed. Travel is permitted only for those who have been vaccinated. He warned that those who did not receive the vaccination would have to stay in the hotel quarantine for a week.

Strict restrictions were imposed on the country’s borders on March 20 last year following the Corona expansion. Strict restrictions have been imposed in Australia since the travel permit was approved 18 months later.

Alappuzha: The district collector has permitted to open the beaches and parks in Alappuzha district with restrictions from October 4 as part of the phased reopening of the tourist area which was closed due to the lockdown.

Following are the guidelines issued by the District Disaster Management Authority for operating beaches and parks in compliance with covid prevention standards.

People with covid symptoms or other ailments should not enter beaches and parks.

Visitors should wear the mask properly and ensure social distance and use of sanitizer.

Local body secretaries should take steps to make periodic mic announcements to remind the public of covid prevention guidelines.

Beaches, rest areas, restrooms, shops, etc. should be disinfected at regular intervals and waste bins and sanitizers should be ensured.

The port, DTPC and local self-governing bodies should take action by October 3 to ensure electricity, lighting, water availability and covid Prevention Awareness Boards on the beaches.

Violators of the covid guidelines will be prosecuted under the Disaster Management Act, the Infectious Diseases Control Act and the Indian Penal Code.

The district police chief, district medical officer, local government heads, revenue authorities, tourism deputy, DTPC secretary and port officer were tasked to ensure compliance with the guidelines on the operation of beaches and parks and to take action against violators.

New Delhi: Fuel prices are still high in the country. Petrol price was hiked by 25 paise and diesel by 31 paise today.
On Thursday, petrol prices were hiked by 25 paise and diesel by 32 paise.

In Kochi today, petrol is priced at Rs 102.07 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.08 per liter. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol costs Rs 104.13 and diesel Rs 97.12. In Kozhikode, petrol and diesel cost Rs 102.34 and Rs 95.35 respectively.

A student in Pala St. Thomas College is strangled to death by a classmate

Kottayam: A student was beheaded by a classmate on the college campus. Nidhina, a native of Vaikom Talayolaparambu, was killed. The incident took place at Pala St. Thomas College.

The killer Abhishek Baiju from Koothattukulam was taken into custody. According to reports, Abhishek confessed to police that he killed Nidhina due to love failure. Abhishek is Nidhina’s classmate. Nidhina was stabbed by Abhishek after the supplementary examination. She was rushed to the hospital but could not be rescued.

LPG prices rise again in the country

New Delhi: The prices of LPG cylinders for commercial use have gone up again. Oil companies have hiked the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 43.50 per liter, with the new price coming into effect from today. Earlier it was Rs 1693. On September 1, the price of LPG cylinders for commercial use was increased by Rs 75. Currently, there is no change in the price of a cylinder for domestic use.

New Delhi: Shrines in the national capital have reopened. The city’s shrines have been closed for five months following the second wave of the Covid 19. Shrines are reopened with strict restrictions. The covid standards are set by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

The places of worship in Delhi were closed on April 19 following a government order. Believers can enter places of worship but are not allowed to congregate. The DDMA has directed the district magistrates and deputy commissioners to ensure that the covid norms are not violated in any way during Diwali and Navratri celebrations.

There are also strict bans on market fairs, food stalls, rallies, and rallies as part of rituals. Celebrations of any kind are not allowed in public places. The public is advised to keep celebrations limited to homes.

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju has extended the validity of driving licenses, vehicle registration certificate, fitness certificate, and permit till November 30, 2021. The validity of the certificates has been extended under the Central Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. The minister said vehicle owners should update their documents within this period. Earlier, due to covid, the deadline was extended to September 30. The minister said due to the expiration of their fitness certificates and the covid crisis persisted. Minister Antony Raju had written to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari with this demand.
