He was under custody from the hotel in Hyderabad. Police already banned Azad from attending the rally.
He was under police custody for protesting against CAA in Juma Masjid in December in Delhi. He was released after 27 days.

Beijing: China’s death toll has risen to 56 this year due to the rapidly spreading coronavirus virus. In Hubei province, 13 people died due to the virus. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country rose to 1985 after 323 cases were confirmed. It has been confirmed that more cases of coronavirus infection, similar to SARS, have been reported.
More cases are being reported from Beijing and Shanghai. The National Health Commission (NCH) reports that 1757 cases have been confirmed in over 30 Chinese provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. The NCHH said 2684 suspected coronavirus cases and 324 cases were serious.

Thiruvananthapuram: State election commissioner V Bhaskaran said that Pravasi Bharatiyas have been allowed to be named in the voters’ list of the general elections of the state panchayats and municipalities this year.
The Commission has issued a notification on January 18 to register the voter in the Grama Panchayat Municipal Corporation Ward, which contains the address listed on the passport of NRIs in the State.
The information on the Commission’s website www.lsgelection.kerala.gov.in can be printed online and sent to the Electoral Registration Officer directly or by post.
Copies of the passport information, visa and photo stamped relevant pages should be self-attested. The application should be made to the Electoral Registration Officer of the state where the residence is registered in the passport. The Electoral Registration Officers are the Secretaries of Grama Panchayats and Municipalities and respective Secretaries of Corporations and Additional Secretaries to Corporations.
Applications for Electoral Registration Officers will be duly investigated and action will be taken to include the names in the list. Those who are named in the list of NRIs can vote at the polling station by submitting their original passports.
Thiruvananthapuram: The government has decided to increase the price of lottery tickets from Rs 30 to Rs 40. Ticket prices are on the rise after the lottery’s GST was increased from 12 percent to 28 percent. The ticket price hike will come into effect on March 1.
The increase in the price of tickets is due to the reduction in the commission of GST. With the increase in prices, agents can increase the commission by up to one rupee per ticket. The GST increase notification will only be issued when ticket price increases are issued.
With this, the government’s commission on ticket sales will fall from 13 percent to 6.8 percent. The GST received by the state government will increase from 6% to 14%.

Psycho is the latest Tamil psychological thriller directed by Mishkin. The film will be on display today. After ‘Tuppariwala’, the film stars Udayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles.
The script for the film is done by Mishkin. Singambuli, Ram and Shaji are the other stars of the film. The cinematography was handled by debutant Tanveer. Ilayaraja is the music composer. The film is produced by Arun Mozhi Manikyam under the banner of Double Meaning Productions. Udayanidhi plays the blind man in the movie.
New Delhi: The time for withdrawing nominations for the Delhi assembly elections ends today. Currently, 1029 candidates have filed their nominations. Polling is on February 8. There are more than 1,000 nominations submitted by the candidates.
Earlier, 411nomination papers of candidates had rejected. Three others have so far withdrawn their nomination papers. On the last day of filing, 806 people filed their nominations. The Aam Aadmi Party will contest all 70 seats.
While the BJP is contesting in 67 seats, three seats have been reserved for its allies LJP and JDU. The Congress is contesting in 66 seats and the RJD in the 4 seats.
