New Delhi: Popular Front leaders arrested in connection with a riot in northeast Delhi that killed 52 people. Popular Front Delhi President Pervez Ahmed and Secretary Mohammed Ilyas have been arrested.

They were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell, which is investigating the riots in Delhi. Mohammed Ilyas had contested from the Karawal Nagar constituency as the SDPI candidate in the Delhi elections.

They have been charged with inciting people to riot and providing financial support for the riots. The arrested suspects will be produced in Patiala House Court soon.

Police constable Ratanlal was killed in a riot in the northeast of New Delhi against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Ratanlal was the head constable of the Gokulpuri police station. A total of 45 people, including a policeman, were killed in the riot.

DK Sivakumar appointed as Karnataka Congress president. The move followed by Karnataka Congress President Dinesh Gundu Rao submitted the resignation on Tuesday.

Ishwar Khandre, Satish Jarkiholi, and Salim Ahmed are appointed as PCC working President. According to reports, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will continue as the Leader of the Opposition and Ajay Singh as the Chief Whip of the Legislative Assembly.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has warmly welcomed Jyotiraditya Scindia from Congress. Moreover, the BJP declared Scindia a Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, where the three seats are vacant, the BJP has announced its candidates for two seats.

Harsh Chauhan of the Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram was also named as the candidate. Elections are scheduled for March 26.

Reports say that Jyothirathitya Scindia, who came to the BJP after he failed to meet his demand to be considered as the first candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. Besides, he considered as a first candidate and Rajya Sabha MP, the BJP planning to make him minister in the union cabinet.

State Bank of India (SBI) has waived the minimum balance requirement for Savings Bank Accounts.

The bank policy that, people should keep a minimum balance of Rs.1000 in rural areas and, Rs. 2000 in the semi-urban area was lifted today. At least 44.51 cr savings bank accounts will get the profit due to this.

No penalty will be imposed if the minimum amount is not kept in the account. The interest rate on savings accounts has been consolidated to 3% per annum. Besides, SBI has also reduced lending rates and also eliminated SMS charges.

New Delhi: 20 Congress MLAs file resignations in Madhya Pradesh. The move comes in support of Jyotiraditya Scindia, who resigned from the Congress. The resignation letter was sent to the Governor of Madhya Pradesh via e-mail by MLAs at the resort in Bengaluru. Six ministers were among those who resigned. They have resigned from the Congress.

With the resignation of 19 party MLAs, the Kamal Nath government is sure to fall. In the 230-member House, Congress had 114 members. The BJP has 107 seats. The SP has one and the BSP has two MLAs. Some independents and a BSP MLA is supporting Scindia. Two seats are vacant.

Scindia left the Congress after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Reports say that he was given a BJP Rajya Sabha seat and a minister.
