Former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has passed away

New Delhi: Former Union Minister and former Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh have passed away here today. He died at the Delhi AIIMS. He was 74 years old.

Many people, including the Prime Minister, the President, and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, have expressed their condolences on the death of Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.

Raghuvansh Prasad had resigned from the RJD ahead of the Bihar elections. He was a close follower of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, who represented Vaishali constituency in the Lok Sabha, was the Union Minister for Rural Development in the UPA-1 government. He also served as Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and in the Department of Food and Consumer Affairs.

Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is considered to be an expert in rural agriculture in the country. He was instrumental in the implementation of the Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Miya started her career with small roles in films and later starred in Sachi’s Chettayis directed by Shajun Karyal. She has already acted in over 40 films in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu.

Thiruvananthapuram: Widespread protest in the state demanding the resignation of Minister KT Jaleel. The demonstrations of the opposition parties resulted in clashes in many places. Youth League, Yuva Morcha, and Youth Congress activists staged the protest. Both the UDF and the BJP have accused the chief minister of protecting Jaleel.

There has been a series of agitations by various political parties in front of the Secretariat demanding Jaleel’s resignation. Water cannons were used against the march of Yuva Morcha and Youth League.

Grenades and tear gas shells were fired at Yuva Morcha activists. 4 workers were injured. Police fired water cannon at protesters trying to climb over the barricade. Activists rallied on the road and chanted slogans against Jaleel.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate team investigating the gold smuggling case questioned Minority Affairs Minister KT Jaleel. KT Jaleel’s statement was confirmed by the head of the Enforcement Directorate. This morning, some officials from the Enforcement Directorate met the Minister in person.

Minister KT Jaleel had said that the Enforcement Directorate had not yet questioned him. However, the head of the Delhi Enforcement Department confirmed that Jaleel had been interrogated. Thiruvananthapuram: The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has directed that no one should go to sea off the coast of Kerala till further notice as strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph is expected along Kerala coast, Karnataka coast, and Lakshadweep region.

Special caution:

12-09-2020 to 16-09-2020: Strong winds of 45 to 55 km per hour are expected in the south-eastern Arabian Sea.

12-09-2020 & 13-09-2020: Strong winds at 40-50 kmph in the Mid-Eastern Arabian Sea. The Kerala-Karnataka coast and Lakshadweep region are likely to experience strong winds and bad weather at speeds of 40 to 50 kmph.

14-09-2020 to 16-09-2020: Strong winds with speeds of 45 to 55 km per hour in the mid-eastern Arabian Sea. Strong winds of 45 to 55 kmph are expected along the Kerala-Karnataka coast and in the Lakshadweep region.

12-09-2020 to 14-09-2020: Chance of strong winds and bad weather at 45 to 55 kmph off the coast of Andhra Pradesh and in the Bay of Bengal.

It is not allowed to go fishing in the above areas on the above days.

Balabhaskar’s death: CBI to question Stephen Devassy

Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI will question Stephen Devassy in the death of violinist Balabhaskar. The CBI has asked Stephen to appear for questioning. Stephen has asked to be given some time off as he is on quarantine.

The CBI has directed Stephen to come to his office in Thiruvananthapuram. Balabhaskar was admitted to a private hospital after the accident. At that time Stephen had reached there and met Balabhaskar and talked to him.

The CBI has reportedly summoned Stephen to find out what they were talking about. Balu’s relatives also testified against Stephen. It is also reported that the summons was issued on that basis.

No by-election; All-party meeting to ask Election Commission

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there was a unanimous opinion in the all-party meeting that there should be no by-election. Will ask Election Commission regarding this.

The CM was explaining the decisions of the all-party meeting. The CM said that all the parties in the meeting had demanded that by-elections be avoided.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the proposed elections will not be held indefinitely. Some shifts can be made in terms of dates depending on the COVID expansion. However, the Chief Minister said that it was not possible to extend it indefinitely.

The all-party meeting discussed whether it was appropriate to focus on elections at this particular stage to elect a legislator who can only serve for three months.

It was suggested at the meeting that the Kuttanad and Chavara by-elections should not be held now and that it would be appropriate to unanimously request the Central Election Commission to hold elections in these constituencies with the forthcoming general elections in the next six months.To hold elections in November is impossible in this scenario which is COVID expansion is widening in the state, according to all parties.
