Mumbai: The court rejected the bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik in a drug conspiracy case. Rhea has been lodged in the Byculla jail in Mumbai since Wednesday. The actress was arrested by the Drug Control Bureau on Tuesday on charges of drug dealing with Sushant Singh Rajput.

The application was filed in a special court in Mumbai. The magistrate’s court had rejected the bail pleas of the two. Rhea said in the petition that she had confessed under duress.

She pointed out that only male officers were in the interrogation team. Earlier, Rhea’s plea was rejected after the prosecution raised the issue of whether the magistrate court had jurisdiction to hear the petition. Rhea Chakraborty has been booked under Section 27 of the NDPS Act. If proved the guilty, Rhea and his brother could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of not less than Rs 2 lakh.

The CBI has moved to expose Prakash Thambi, Vishnu Somasundaram, Sobi George, and driver Arjun for a polygraph test. The CBI had earlier recorded their statements. The test is required for contradictions in statements.

According to Balabhaskar’s wife Lakshmi and several people, Arjun was driving on the day of the accident. But Arjun says Balabhaskar driven the car. Sobi says the vehicle was hit before the accident.
