Kochi: The trial court in Kochi will consider the petition filed by the prosecution seeking cancellation of the bail of actor Dileep, the accused in the case of attacking the actress. The prosecution alleges that Dileep was trying to influence witnesses. The petition also alleges that there was a planned attempt to sabotage the case.

One or two witnesses in the case had earlier changed their testimony. Following this, the lawyer argued in court that Dileep was trying to influence another important witness. Dileep tried to influence an employee of a tennis club who proved that there was a connection between Dileep and Pulsar Suni. In that case, the prosecution argues that Dileep’s bail should be canceled on the ground that he has violated the bail conditions.

Actor and MLA Mukesh are also presented before the court in the case. Mukesh was introduced Pulsar Suni to Dileep. Will ask Mukesh about this relationship also.

The examination of 302 witnesses in the case is yet to be completed. The cross-examination of 44 witnesses, including the attacked actress, has already been completed. The other witnesses will be examined on the 17th.

Thiruvananthapuram: Widespread protests in the state for the fourth day in a row demanding the resignation of Minister KT Jaleel. The march by the youth groups turned violent in many places.

Police fired grenades and tear gas at the Youth Congress march to the secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. Police and protesters clashed in front of the secretariat. Several activists, including KS Sabrinathan MLA, were injured.

Clashes also erupted during a march by Yuva Morcha activists and SDPI activists to the secretariat. SDPI activists set fire to Jaleel’s dummy. The march of Yuva Morcha to Palakkad Collectorate also turned violent. The leaders were forcibly removed by the police. Several activists were injured. Yuva Morcha activists blocked the road.

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains lashed many parts of the state. A yellow alert was declared in ten districts. Yellow alert declared for all districts except Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam. The low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal may intensify the rainfall. Fishermen should not go to sea.

The Central Meteorological Department has warned of strong winds of up to 40 kmph in some parts of Kollam, Thrissur, and Malappuram districts during the next three hours.

Thiruvananthapuram: State-wide protest demanding the resignation of Minister KT Jaleel. BJP, Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha, and MSF activists came out in protest. The protests took place in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Palakkad. Protests erupted in various places. Police used water cannons.

The march of Mahila Morcha activists to the secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram was stopped by a police barricade. With this, the activists broke the barricade and tried to enter. Some of the activists also tried to jump over the secretariat wall. The police intervened and arrested them. There was a tussle between the activists and the police. Currently, activists are protesting in front of the Secretariat.

The march by MSF activists in Kozhikode, Palakkad, and Kasaragod turned violent. MSF activists block the National Highway in Malappuram.

Thiruvananthapuram: Driving schools that were closed for months due to lockdown will be reopened from today. Driving schools are subject to strict restrictions. There will also be RTO monitoring at all centers.

Only those who have obtained a driver’s license before the lockdown begins or have failed a driving test once will have the opportunity to take the driving test until October 15. Others will be given the opportunity after that. The online method for leaner’ tests will continue. Only two people are allowed in the vehicle at a time. The teacher should only train one student at a time. Teachers should be trained to follow COVID safety precautions. The vehicle should be disinfected after a student disembarks after training.

Also, students from the cantonment zones, those over the age of 65, and those with other ailments will not be admitted to driving schools.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has rejected a petition seeking cancellation of Chavara and Kuttanad by-elections. The Election Commission said the election schedule had not been decided and the pre-announcement petition was immature. The bench, headed by the chief, accepted the commission’s contention and dismissed the petition.

The court ruled that the Election Commission, the constitutional body, could not make any recommendations.

The bench comprising Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chali heard a petition filed by Dr. Varghese seeking that the term of the Assembly is completed in six months and that those elected should not receive more than five months and should avoid spending around Rs 20 crore.

New Delhi: The Central Meteorological Department has said that low pressure has formed in the Bay of Bengal. In this backdrop, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Kerala. The low-pressure area will touch the Andhra coast tomorrow. A cyclone-like situation has developed off the coast of Maharashtra in the Arabian Sea. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in the area from the coast of Maharashtra to northern Kerala. The meteorological department has issued alerts in Kerala, Karnataka, and the Konkan coast.
