Actress assault case; The prosecution’s plea will be heard today

Kochi: The trial court in Kochi will consider the petition filed by the prosecution seeking cancellation of the bail of actor Dileep, the accused in the case of attacking the actress. The prosecution alleges that Dileep was trying to influence witnesses. The petition also alleges that there was a planned attempt to sabotage the case.

One or two witnesses in the case had earlier changed their testimony. Following this, the lawyer argued in court that Dileep was trying to influence another important witness. Dileep tried to influence an employee of a tennis club who proved that there was a connection between Dileep and Pulsar Suni. In that case, the prosecution argues that Dileep’s bail should be canceled on the ground that he has violated the bail conditions.

Actor and MLA Mukesh are also presented before the court in the case. Mukesh was introduced Pulsar Suni to Dileep. Will ask Mukesh about this relationship also.

The examination of 302 witnesses in the case is yet to be completed. The cross-examination of 44 witnesses, including the attacked actress, has already been completed. The other witnesses will be examined on the 17th.

Driving schools will be open from today

Thiruvananthapuram: Driving schools that were closed for months due to lockdown will be reopened from today. Driving schools are subject to strict restrictions. There will also be RTO monitoring at all centers.

Also, students from the cantonment zones, those over the age of 65, and those with other ailments will not be admitted to driving schools.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has rejected a petition seeking cancellation of Chavara and Kuttanad by-elections. The Election Commission said the election schedule had not been decided and the pre-announcement petition was immature. The bench, headed by the chief, accepted the commission’s contention and dismissed the petition.

The court ruled that the Election Commission, the constitutional body, could not make any recommendations.

The bench comprising Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chali heard a petition filed by Dr. Varghese seeking that the term of the Assembly is completed in six months and that those elected should not receive more than five months and should avoid spending around Rs 20 crore.

Former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has passed away

New Delhi: Former Union Minister and former Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh have passed away here today. He died at the Delhi AIIMS. He was 74 years old.

Raghuvansh Prasad had resigned from the RJD ahead of the Bihar elections. He was a close follower of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, who represented Vaishali constituency in the Lok Sabha, was the Union Minister for Rural Development in the UPA-1 government. He also served as Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and in the Department of Food and Consumer Affairs.
