New Delhi: BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma (62) was found dead inside his house. His body was found at his home on Delhi North Avenue on Wednesday morning. Lucknow: Five people, including children, have died after falling into a septic tank in Fatehabad near Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Ten-year-old Anurag first fell into the tank in September while playing. Police said the others were in an attempt to save Anurag, three of whom were minors.
The deceased have been identified as Sonu (25), Ram Khiladi, Harimohan (16), and Avinash (12). They also drowned while trying to save Anurag. Harimohan, Avinash, and Anurag are brothers. The villagers rushed the victims to the hospital, but they died earlier.

Kochi: The High Court has said that KSEB has a legal obligation to provide electricity connection within a month if the application is received. The court order upheld the fine imposed on the officials for delaying the provision of electricity connection. At the same time, Justice Murali Purushothaman said that water and electricity are an integral part of the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution. The High Court pointed out that under Section 43 of the Electricity Act, the connection must be made within one month of receipt of the application.
KSEB officials had fined P Zainuddin, a resident of Malappuram Kuttipala, for not following the order of the consumer complaint forum to provide electricity connection. However, the board said that Zainuddin was given a power connection while the petition was pending. Assistant Executive Engineer KN Raveendranathan and Assistant Engineer K Keeran had approached the High Court. The court’s verdict is on their petition. Zainuddin applied in May 2013 for an electrical connection to a 300-square-foot home. However, the application was rejected citing technical reasons. The order given by the forum in the complaint against this was not complied with. Subsequently, in a complaint filed with the Zainuddin Electricity Regulatory Commission, Rabindranath was ordered to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 and Keeran Rs 25,000.
Bangalore: Karnataka has made RT PCR negative certificates compulsory for people from Kerala. The decision comes at a time when Covid cases are on the rise in Karnataka.

Kochi: The Maradu 357 film set against the backdrop of the demolition of the Maradu flat will be screened in court today. New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur has said that Rs 2,000 notes have not been printed in the country for the past two years. Thakur informed the Lok Sabha in writing that the Rs 2,000 note was printed in April 2019. The minister said the decision was taken in consultation with the Reserve Bank.
He said that since March 2018, there were 3360 million currencies in circulation worth Rs 2,000. By February 26, 2021, it had dropped to 2,499 million. Earlier, the Reserve Bank of India had stopped printing Rs 2,000 notes.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) introduced the new Rs 2,000 notes on November 8, 2016, after the existing Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were declared invalid.
Palakkad: A help desk is being set up at the District Information Office to introduce electronic voting machines and Vvpat to the public ahead of the Assembly elections.
