Colombo; At least 14 people have been killed in a bus crash in central Sri Lanka. At least 31 people were injured when a bus derailed on the Monaragala-Badulla road in Passara, 240 km east of the capital Colombo. There were about 70 passengers on the bus.
Police spokesman DIG Ajit Rohana said the driver was negligent during the preliminary investigation and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. The bus driver also died in the accident.

Kozhikode: Police seized 648.5 grams of gold worth Rs 30 lakh from Karipur airport. The team was caught while trying to smuggle gold.
The gold was seized by the Kozhikode Customs Preventive Section. Nechikandan Suhaib, a native of Malappuram Kodur, was arrested from Dubai in connection with gold smuggling. The gold alloy was found hidden inside the body in three capsule-shaped packets.

New Delhi: Those who have been vaccinated with the Covid vaccine should not donate blood for two months. The recommendation was made by the National Blood Transfusion Council. The new recommendation suggests that it may affect the immune system. The NBTC says that blood donations should not be made between the day the first dose is taken and 28 days after the second dose. Do not donate blood for 57 days after taking the first vaccine, as there are at least 28 days between taking two doses. There are currently two vaccines being distributed in the country. The new guidelines apply to both covaxin and covishield vaccines.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala PSC announces postponement of Plus Level Preliminary Examination. The exams scheduled to be held on April 10 and 17 have been shifted to April 10 and 18. Currently, the examination is conducted in two phases. The first phase admitcard will be available for download from March 29. The Admit Card for the second phase, which will be held on April 18, can be downloaded from April 8.
The examination will be held from 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm. The hall ticket will contain the details of the examination center and the instructions to be followed. Kerala PSC has also announced the date of the Graduation Entrance Examination. The graduation examination will be held on May 22. Hall tickets for the exam can be downloaded from May 7.
