New Delhi:  Those who have been vaccinated with the Covid vaccine should not donate blood for two months. The recommendation was made by the National Blood Transfusion Council. The new recommendation suggests that it may affect the immune system. The NBTC says that blood donations should not be made between the day the first dose is taken and 28 days after the second dose.
Do not donate blood for 57 days after taking the first vaccine, as there are at least 28 days between taking two doses. There are currently two vaccines being distributed in the country. The new guidelines apply to both covaxin and covishield vaccines.
