Karipur: Police seized 441.20 grams of gold from Karipur airport. The gold is worth Rs 22 lakh. The gold was seized from Fly Dubai FZ 4313 flight from Dubai to Kozhikode at 11.30 last night. The search was carried out by the Customs Preventive Unit.

The gold was seized from a 57-year-old passenger from Kasaragod. Of this, 433 grams of the gold alloy was in capsule form inside the body. A gold coin weighing 29.99 grams and a gold ring weighing 30.11 grams were found hidden inside the purse. 381.11 grams of gold was extracted from the gold alloy.

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are expected in the state for the next two days, the Meteorological department said. The low-pressure area in the Gulf of Mannar continues to cause heavy rainfall. Orange alert was issued in four districts following the warning of heavy rains.
