Vehicles currently registered in each state are required to re-register when they are permanently relocated. The BH series is to avoid this. This system can be used if the vehicle owner is interested. It is currently licensed for use by members of the Defense Forces and Central and State Government employees. Employees of private companies with offices in four or more states can also avail themselves of the new system.

The new system will be more useful for those who are working on inter-state transfers. Currently, they have to transfer the vehicle registration every time they receive a transfer. Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act prohibits permanent use of a vehicle outside the registered state for more than one year.

Bangalore: Mangalore police have arrested seven people for trying to cross the Kerala-Karnataka border at Thalappadi with fake RTPCR certificates. Six of them are from Kasargod and one is from Mangalore.
