Kaviyoor Ponnamma’s 50th year in the Malayalam film industry was celebrated in Kochi. As part of the celebration a dance-music-comedy entertainment show was conducted. The show began with the guests lighting 50 lamps to mark the completion of fifty years. KPAC Lalitha on behalf of AMMA and Evershine Mani on behalf of the Film Chamber presented Ponnada to Kaviyoor Ponnamma.

Bharat Gopi award for Thilakan
Veteran actor Thilakan, who was recently ousted from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) on grounds of indiscipline, has been selected for the Bharat Gopi Award 2010 instituted by the Manavaseva Welfare Society.
Thilakan was selected for the award for his contribution to the film world, society president Poykamukku Hari told a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The award will be given away by Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma, head of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore, at a function to be held at Attingal on Saturday.
