Deepika Padukone could be playing the lead opposite Salman Khan in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard, which released in the South this March. The film was written and directed by top South Indian director Siddique.The director has been approached by many other filmmakers for the rights of the film but Atul Agnihotri has procured them for the Hindi remake. Only after completing the Tamil version will Siddique embark on the Hindi remake as a director and writer.
The movie is about a young man who is attracted to individuals who show acts of heroism and follows them like a bodyguard. Things take an interesting turn when he has to accompany a businessman’s beautiful daughter to college in that capacity.

Malayalam Movie director Viswambharan dead
Kochi:Veteran Malayalam director P.G. Viswambharan died early Wednesday at a private hospital here, a family source said. He was 69.
Viswambharan was ailing for some time, and his condition worsened Tuesday. The funeral will take place at Palakkad.
In a career spanning close to four decades, Viswambharan directed close to 60 Malayalam films. He quit movie making after Puthooramputhri Unniyarcha, which was released in 2002.
Viswambharan started as an assistant director. For a decade, he worked with veteran Sasikumar before turning a full-fledged director in 1976 with Ozhukkinethire. Since then he has given numerous box office hits.
Superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal hit stardom with Viswambharan’s films.
Some of his hits include Chakara, Ee Sabdham Enathe Sabdam, Thirakel Alapesamyam, Kattu Kuthira, Ezhupunna Tharakan and Gajakesariyogam.(IANS)

Synopsis
Probably it has been a long time since we saw a female oriented film in Malayalam. ‘Neelambari’ is a film that comes as a welcome change in a scenario as this, and has a story that revolves around two bosom friends – Parvathy and Lakshmi.
‘Neelambari’ is a treatise on music and romance, and holds a mirror to real life. Parvathy (Bhama) loses her mother at birth. Parvathy is brought up along with Lekshmi (Divya) by the latter’s mother. The two girls share the same thoughts, dresses and even dreams.
Parvathy and Lakshmi join the Music College, where Parvathy falls in love Devanand, her lecturer. However, Devanand’s grandfather has other plans in mind. He hopes to get his grandson married to Laskhmi. This drives the two girls apart, and Parvathy finds herself abandoned on the streets.
Hari Narayanan who had bagged the Best Debutante Director Award for his film ‘Nanthuni’ tells a heart warming story in ‘Neelambari’. In the words of the makers themselves, ‘Neelambari’ would be a class film that would appeal to the common viewer.
The film has a huge star cast that has such names as Vineeth, Anoop Menon, Bhama, Divya, Harisree Ashoka, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Kalasala Babu, P Sreekumar, Anoop Chandran and Ambika Mohan in it.
Produced by Premanandan under the banner of Sreelekshmi Creation,s the film has been shot on locations at Palakkad and Palani. The film is fast getting readied for a June release.

Lal Jose ready for next
After the instant hit of ‘Neelathamara’ Lal Jose is getting ready to call the shots for his next film titled ‘Elasamma Enn Aankutty’, the movie will feature Kunchakko Boban and Indrajith in lead roles. The quest for the fresh face donning the title heroine role is in progress. Lal Jose will also include Janardhanan, Jagathy and K P A C Lalitha in other supporting roles.
‘Elsamma Enn Aankutty’ will be scripted by Sindhuraaj who had been with Lal Jose earlier for the movie ‘Mulla’. For the first time in his career, Lal Jose will experiment his music department with Rajamani, instead of his regular Vidyasagar. As per the latest reports, the shoot for the movie will kick start by May.

Kunchakko Boban’s new release will be ‘Oridathoru Postman’ directed by Shaji Azeez.
The movie will tell an intense story about the relationship between father and son, played by Innocent and Kunchacko Boban. Kalabhavan Mani plays a funny cop in the film which will feature Meera Nandan as the heroine. Tamil star Sarath Kumar will appear as wild life photographer in the movie. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar and Jaffer Idukki are also in the cast of the movie produced under the banner of Nila Creations.
‘Oridathoru Postman’ has screenplay and dialogues by K Gireesh Kumar. While Anand Balakrishnan wields the camera, the music director of the movie is Mohan Sithara.
