Arjunan Saakshi to start next month
One of the most promising directors of last year Ranjith Shankar, who bagged the Lohithadas Puraskaaram with his first movie, will kick off the shoot of his new movie ‘Arjunan Saakshi’ by next month. The pooja of the movie will be held at Gokulam Convention Centre, Cochin on the first of November.
The movie to feature young superstar Prithviraj in the lead role will play Roy Mathew, a young Malayalee architect who returns to Cochin after spending long years abroad.
Arjunan Saakshi also stars Ann Augustin, the heroine of Elsamma Enna Aankutty, Biju Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar and Suraj Venjarammoodu.The film is being produced under the banner of SRT Films by S Sundararajan. The camera is by Ajayan Vincent and the music director is Biji Bal.The movie will be scripted by the director Ranjith himself.
Asif Ali in Joshiey’s new movie
Asif Ali who made a great debut with Shyama Prasad’s ‘Rithu’ is a busy actor these days. Asif now gets ready to turn hero. He will be soon in a great opportunity in the new film directed by hit maker Joshiey titled ‘Sevens’.Scripted by Iqbal Kuttippuram who had scripted several hits like ‘Arabikkatha’, and ‘For the People’.
Asif who was recently featured in Sathyan Anthikkad’s ‘Katha Thaudarunnu’ and Sibi Malayil’s ‘Apoorvaragam’, will also be seen in a number of new projects like ‘Ithu Nammude Katha’ and ‘Best of Luck’ which will grace the theatres soon.
Pranchiyettan to celebrate 50 days at home
Mammootty starrer Pranchiyettan and the Saint is going to celebrate the 50 days of its screening at Lulu Centre, Kochi. The celebration will be attended by the cast and crew of the movie.
Mammootty’s Ranjith directed Pranchiyettan and the Saint has turned out to be a path breaking phenomenon of the year. The film has been critically acclaimed and at the same time a box-office hit.The celebrations would be held in a big way on October 30th evening at the prestigious Lulu Convention Center in Thrissur. Most of the film was shot in and around Thrissur.
‘City of God’ title changes

Young director Lijo Jose Pellissery who had been with much critical acclaim after his debut movie ‘Nayakan’, has changed the title of his new movie. Originally titled as ‘City of God’, this movie will be now known by the name ‘Junction’.
The movie feature two star brothers of Mollywood, Prithviraj and Indrajith in the lead roles and will have Parvathi of ‘Notebook’ fame as the heroine.

Kavya Madhavan at Ernakulam Family court Photos

Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan and her husband Nishal Chandra have agreed to sign on a divorce petition following irreconcilable differences in their two-year-old marriage.The two came to the family court in Ernakulam separately and attended court proceedings and informed the court that the divorce was with mutual consent.The divorce was mediated by friends on both sides after the actress filed a dowry harassment complaint against Nishal and his family members recently.Subsequently,Nishal moved the high court praying that the FIR be quashed since conciliatory moves were on.Though the court rejected the request,it asked the police not to arrest Nishal for a week to allow out-of-court settlement.Kavya will withdraw the two complaints filed against Nishal and his family as part of the settlement.

Rithu directed by Shyamaprasad has won the Surya Film Awards 2010 for the best film and director.
The awards instituted jointly by the Surya TV and the Kerala Film Producers Association were announced by jury chairman Madhu and other members here on Wednesday.
Renjith Sankar, who directed Passenger has been adjudged the best debut director.
Mammootty was adjudged the best male actor for his performance in Paleri Manikyam, Pazhassi Raja and Loud Speaker. Padmapriya won the best actress award for her performance in Pazhassi Raja and Bhoomi Malayalam. Indrans ( Raamanam) is the second best male actor and Swetha Menon ( Paleri Manikyam) actress. Jagadish ( To Harihar Nagar) is the best comedian and Jagathy Sreekumar ( Passenger) villain.

Urumi (Malayalam: ഉറുമി ) is an upcoming Malayalam film currently in pre-production.
