Shwetha Menon winner of the state awards last year  has filed a case against the producer of her latest movie ‘Kayam’ at Ernakulam District Court.She has complained that the producer has used her stills of the movie to promote Musli Power Extra  a popular rejuvenating tablet.

She said that the producer hasn’t ever consulted her before talking such an action to associate her images with such a product.Shwetha who is much impressed with the movie and her role in ‘Kayam’ also openly expresses her disappointment over the way it is being promoted, just like an adult movie

Siddharth son of late director Bharathan will shortly remake his father’s big classic success ‘Nidhra’ .The will be remade with the title ‘Suhruthu’.

The movie will feature Reema Kallingal and debutante Manu in the lead roles that was played by Vijay Menon and Shanthikrishna in the original. Bharathan’s wife and Siddharth’s mother K P A C Lalitha will play the same role that she had played in the original.

The shoot of the movie that is expected to start on January 5 at Aranmula, will be cinematographed by Venugopal. Scripted by Vinu Kiriyath and Sidharth, the movie will be presented in a different narrative style from the original.The movie will be produced under the banner of Kuttamath films

Mollywood movie titled ‘Race’ is currently in its shooting and is scheduled to hit theaters this January. The movie will  have Kunchako Boban, Indrajith, Mamtha Mohandas, Baby Ankitha and Jagathi Sreekumar in the lead roles.

Kukku Surendran is directing the movie, which will have Kunchakko Boban as Dr Aby John. He with his small family of wife Niya and daughter Anu.The story depicts how some dramatic events in a 24-hour time frame collapses the peaceful ambience of this little family.

The movie will have music by Viswajith. ‘Race’ is produced under the banner of Pentavision by Jose K George and Shaji Mecheri.

Saji Surendran’s new movie has Ann Augustine as the lead female role .The movie which will be scripted by Saji’s regular scriptwriter Krishna Poojappura, will have Fazil’s son Fahad Fazil in the lead role.

To be produced by Manian Pillai Raju, the movie will also feature Lalu Alex, Siddiq, Innocent and Suraj Venjaramoodu in important roles. Saji Surendran will kick off the shoot by February 2011.

University of Calicut conferred yet another D-Litt degree to Megastar of Mollywood, Mammooty.The conferment of Degree was made by the state Governor and chancellor of the University R S Gawai. The vice-chancellor of the university, Dr Anwar Jahan Zuberi and many eminent personalities from cinema and academics were present on the occasion.
