Thiruvananthapuram: Sreekumaran Thampi’s work ‘Jeevitham Oru Pendulum’ has been selected for the 47th Vayalar Sahitya Award. Chairman of Vayalar Ramavarma Memorial Trust Perumbathavam Sreedharan announced the award at a press conference held at Muscat Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram. A committee consisting of writers Vijayalakshmi, P K Rajasekharan and Dr. L Thomaskutty selected the works deserving of the award.
The award is one lakh rupees and a sculpture made in bronze by renowned sculptor Kanai Kunji Raman. The award amount is exempt from income tax. Reputation certificate will also be submitted.
Officials announced that the award ceremony will be held on October 27, the death anniversary of Vayalar Ramavarma at 5.30 pm sharp at Nishagandhi Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram, following the green protocol.
