NEW DELHI: In a dramatic turn of events, ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained by Delhi Police from inside an airplane at the Delhi airport, ahead of a planned protest march at Jantar Mantar.
Before he could even step out of the aircraft, a police team boarded the plane and took him into custody.
The police action comes in the wake of a planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The Delhi Police had earlier denied permission for the protest.
