An Israeli airstrike killed the Houthi-controlled Prime Minister of northern Yemen, Ahmad Al Rahawi. The strike, carried out in Sana’a, targeted political and military leaders. Yemeni media confirmed that Al Rahawi and several others were killed.
The attack took place at the apartment where Al Rahawi lived. Sana’a and other parts of northern Yemen are under Houthi control amid the ongoing civil war. The Houthis are part of a regional anti-Israel alliance along with Hamas and Hezbollah.
Reports also say that Houthi Defence Minister Mohammed Al-Atifi and Chief of Staff Mohammed Abdul-Karim Al-Gamari were killed in the strike.
