Palakkad: In connection with the Onam festival, Southern Railway has announced a special train between Mangaluru and Bengaluru. The train will depart from Mangaluru on Sunday at 11 AM and reach Bengaluru by around 2:30 PM on Monday via Kozhikode – Palakkad – Erode.
Booking will start on Saturday at 8 AM. The train will arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 2:30 PM on September 1. In Kerala, the train will stop at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, and Palakkad. Railways also said that more special trains may be announced depending on demand.
The return train will leave Bengaluru on Monday at 3:50 PM and reach Mangaluru by 7:30 AM on Tuesday. Stops include Mangaluru, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Bangarpet, Krishnarajapuram, and SMVT Bengaluru.
The special train will run for one service only. Coaches will include one AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, 14 sleeper class, and two second-class coaches.
