Paris: ISRO’s sophisticated communications prototype GSAT-30 successfully launches. It was launched from French Guiana at 2.35 am. The satellite was launched on the Ariane 5A 25I rocket from French Guiana’s Curio launch station. The launch took place at around 3 am Indian time. The launch was completed in 38 minutes.
The satellite weighs 3357 kg. GSAT-30 was launched instead of the now-expired INSAT-4A satellite. The period of the satellite is 15 years. ISRO said it will successfully detach the satellite from the spacecraft and launch the satellite into its mission soon.
The European launch vehicle Ariane 5 was launched into space by GSAT-30. KU Band Communication is available in India and C-Band Communication is available in the Gulf countries, Asian continent, and Australia.
New Delhi: Mukesh Singh’s mercy plea rejected by President Nirbhaya. The Union Home Ministry had recommended to the President that the mercy petition be rejected. The mercy petition was filed after the Supreme Court dismissed Mukesh Singh’s writ petition. The Delhi government had recommended to the Center to reject the mercy plea.
Mukesh Singh seeks in the plea to postpone the punishment. The Delhi Additional Magistrate Court will consider a report by the Tihar Jail authorities on the death penalty at 3.30 pm today.
Kozhikode: A charge sheet will be filed today in the murder case of Sily in Koodathayi. The charge sheet is filed at Thamarassery Magistrate’s Court. It is alleged that Jolly Joseph was killed Sily by mixing cyanide in tablets and water. Police say that Jolly had acquired Silys gold.

New Delhi: The budget session of Parliament will be held from January 31 to April 3. The first phase will be from 31st to 11th of February and the second phase will be from March 2nd to April 3rd. President Ramnath Kovind will address the joint session of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha at the Central Hall of Parliament on January 31 at 11 am. The House is scheduled to meet on February 11 to provide its standing committees with a view on the grant requirements of various ministries and departments and to prepare reports.
New Delhi: The Central Government has said that no records will be required for the National Population Register and no biometric information will be taken. The Home Ministry said that the questionnaire form will be issued soon as part of the registration. Most states and NPR related provisions have been notified. NPR is the common resident register of the country. The National Population Register will be implemented in all states and Union Territories except for Assam with census from April to September. Assam is exempted because the National Citizenship Register was implemented earlier, the ministry said.
