Nirbhaya case: Mukesh Singh’s mercy plea rejected by President

New Delhi: Mukesh Singh’s mercy plea rejected by President Nirbhaya. The Union Home Ministry had recommended to the President that the mercy petition be rejected. The mercy petition was filed after the Supreme Court dismissed Mukesh Singh’s writ petition. The Delhi government had recommended to the Center to reject the mercy plea.

Mukesh Singh seeks in the plea to postpone the punishment. The Delhi Additional Magistrate Court will consider a report by the Tihar Jail authorities on the death penalty at 3.30 pm today.
