The government’s free Onam Special kit is ready: Distribution will start from July 31

Thiruvananthapuram: The distribution of the Onam Special kit provided free of cost by the state government will start from the 31st of this month. The distribution of kits will be completed by August 16. This month, kits will be distributed to yellow cardholders (AAY) from August 31 to August 2, pink cards (PHH) from August 4 to 7, blue cards (NPS) from August 9 to 12, and white cards from August 13-16.

The Director of Food Civil Supplies has directed to stop the distribution of kits for June on this 28th. A ration cardholder will get a kit of Rs 570.

Items include sugar, coconut oil, green beans, nuts, tea, chili powder, salt, turmeric, atta, pickles, bath soap, nuts, cardamom, semia and, ghee.

ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII results on tomorrow

New Delhi: ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII results will be announced tomorrow. The ISC had canceled the Class XII examination in the wake of Covid. The results are based on the Supreme Court’s order to conduct a special evaluation. The ICSE said the results would be announced at 3 pm on Saturday.

CBSE Class XII results will be announced on July 31. Before this, CBSE had extended the deadline for uploading exam results. The time allowed was until the 25th. Earlier, the time was allowed till 22. The CBSE exemption was granted because of the school’s demand for more time.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has rejected the plea of former public works secretary TO Sooraj to quash the case against him in the Palarivattom bridge scam. Justice Narayana Pisharody’s order rejected Sooraj’s contention that the case was registered against him without prior permission.

The court upheld Vigilance’s contention that the case against Sooraj was filed with the permission of the government. Sooraj had approached the court stating that the vigilance had filed a case against him without the prior permission of the government under the new provision in the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Vigilance said the government had ordered the probe based on a letter from the Public Works Minister seeking an inquiry into the involvement of officials from the Kerala Road Fund Board, Roads and Bridges Corporation, and Kitco in the construction of the bridge.

After examining the allegations, the Additional Chief Secretary ordered an inquiry in good faith. Vigilance told the court that the case was registered against the officers as public servants.

The action was taken for conspiring to smuggle 4.5 kg of gold through Kannur airport on August 19, 2019. The main accused in the case, Customs Inspector Rohit Pandit, was earlier dismissed.

Red and orange alerts have been issued based on this. The village was reportedly isolated due to floods and landslides caused by heavy rains. District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary said the roads were submerged and damaged by landslides, making it difficult to reach the village.

The Savitri and Konya rivers in Maharashtra are dangerously overflowing due to heavy rains. He sought the help of the National Disaster Response Force for the rescue operation. Minister Aditya Thackeray said he had sought the help of the army to rescue the villagers trapped in Mahad. Heavy rains continue in the Konkan region as well. Famous actor KTS Pannadayil has passed away

Kochi: Famous film and serial actor KTS Pannadayil (88) has passed away. He died at a private hospital in Kadavanthara on Thursday morning. KTS Pannadayil, who came to cinema through plays, became famous for his comedic roles.

He made his acting debut in 1956 with the play ‘Vivaha Dallal’. He then went on to star in amateur plays for a fee of five rupees. He later went on to pursue a career in professional theater for over 50 years. He has worked in many committees like Vaikom Malavika, Changanassery Geetha, Kollam Tuna, Attingal Padma Shri, and Edakochi Sargachetana.

He has been active in Malayalam cinema since the 1990s. He later acted in serials. Even as a film actor, he ran a shop in Tripunithura. He has acted in more than 140 films. His first film was Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava directed by Rajasenan.
He became a busy actor in Malayalam with films like Vridhanmare Sookshikkuka and Srikrishnapurathe Nakshatrathilakkam.

Special Judge Honey M., who is considering the case, asked for more time to complete the proceedings.
