Kochi: The crime branch has found more evidence against Monson Mavungal in the archeological fraud case. Monson has defrauded the state of about Rs. 25 crore in the last four years. According to the crime branch, the transactions were done directly by avoiding bank transactions. Further investigations are underway as no records of the expenditure can be found at present.

Details of celebrations organized by Monson and payments for events organized at hotels will be sought. The investigation team had also found that the Monson edition in the name of Monson and the Kalinga companies were also fake. Monson does not have the company’s records. Meanwhile, the crime branch registered another case against Monson on a complaint filed by Santosh, a native of Kilimanoor. The complaint is that he cheated by giving antiquities. This brings to five the number of cases registered by the police against Monson.

Thiruvananthapuram: Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again in the country. Today, petrol price was hiked by 25 paise per liter and diesel by 32 paise. In Kochi, petrol costs Rs. 102 and 98 paise per liter, while diesel costs Rs. 95 and 17 paise. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol costs Rs. 104 and 88 paise per liter, while diesel costs Rs. 96 and 31 paise. Movie theaters will open in the state on the 25th of this month but it has not been decided what the first releases will be. Kerala Film Producers Association president M Ranjith said it was not clear which films would be released in the first week. A meeting of the producers will be called.

Thiruvananthapuram: The unreserved trains from the Thiruvananthapuram Railway division will start from  Wednesday. Nine trains have been announced. Season tickets will be issued on these in addition to the existing special memo. Although these trains run as express special trains, they have stops like passengers.

Season tickets valid after March 24, when trains stop, can be used on these trains. Reservations in general compartments on long-distance expressways will continue. Passengers can use the restrooms at the stations. Passengers must follow covid standards.
