Thiruvananthapuram: Crime Branch charges new against Monson Mavungal. The Crime Branch lodged a charge on Kilimanoor native’s complaint. The number of cases registered against Monsoon has increased to five.

At the same time, the opposition leader drafts a letter to the  Chief Minister seeking a CBI probe against Monson Mavungal on antiquity fraud. He said in the letter that the Crime Branch’s investigation is not credible and wants a new investigation by the CBI.

Idukki: Sunil Kumar alias Shan, a native of Vandiperiyar Mlamala, has been arrested in connection with the death of a six-year-old boy with a hammer at Anachal Amakandam.  According to the office of the district police chief, the accused was caught by the investigation team in the Muthuvankudi area around 7 pm on Sunday.

 Abdul Fattah Rayhan, the son of the Riyaz-Safia couple, was killed Sunday morning.  He is the husband of the sister of the mother of the deceased Abdul Fattah Rayhan.  Abdul Fattah Rayhan and his mother Safia were sleeping in their house in on Saturday.  Abdul Fattah’s elder sister, a 15 – year – old girl, slept with her grandmother Zainaba in a nearby house.  According to police, the accused first attacked Abdul Fattah and his mother Safia with a hammer.  He then went to the house where the 15-year-old girl and her grandmother Zainaba were sleeping and attacked them.  The 15-year-old girl, who escaped, went to a nearby house in the morning and informed the outside world about the murder.

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that the Union Ministry of Health has updated the guidelines for international travelers. A 10-day quarantine was made mandatory for those coming from the UK. Passengers from South Africa, Brazil and Europe require a 7-day mandatory quarantine. All international passengers must undergo RTPCR inspection upon arrival at the airport.  If the test is negative, 14 days of self-monitoring is required. Anyone with any symptoms should immediately contact RTPCR. In addition, the samples of those coming from the UK, South Africa, Brazil, Europe, the Middle East, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand and Zimbabwe will be sent for genetic testing.

The first phase of meetings convened by Public Education Minister V Sivankutty in connection with the opening of the school has come to an end. The meeting was held with DEO and AEO officials. Matters relating to teacher training and the conditions for conducting classes according to the covid norms were discussed. Consideration is being given to creating conditions for teaching children in nearby schools who do not have the infrastructure to start classes within the stipulated day.

In the last three or four days, Education Minister V Sivankutty has convened meetings of various organizations to circumcise the general public. The Department of Education is making extensive preparations for the opening of the school. The Department of Education is in the process of releasing a guideline in this regard on the fifth day.

Separate meetings of teachers’ unions, student unions, youth unions and trade unions were convened. These organizations expressed their full support for the opening of the school. Meetings of DDE, RDD and AD officials were also attended. At the meeting of the mayors and district panchayat presidents, the heads of the local bodies also assured their support. Thiruvananthapuram: A decision has been taken to reopen the theaters which were closed after the lockdown in the state. The decision was taken at the covid review meeting convened by the Chief Minister to open the theaters from the 25th of this month. Admission is limited to 50% of the seats. It is also permitted to operate AC in theaters. Further exemptions were announced. The wedding can be attended by up to 50 people. The gram sabhas were allowed to join up to 50 people.

Movie theaters and indoor auditoriums will be open from October 25 with conditions. Admission is open to those who have received two doses of the vaccine, including workers who have received two doses of the vaccine. Allow 50 percent seating capacity.

Classes at all colleges and other training institutes will begin on October 18, including staff, teachers, and students who have received two doses of the vaccine. Covid Negative Certificate is not required for admission to various institutions within the State. Two-dose vaccination is sufficient.

Colleges, college hostels, and schools operating as CFLTC and CSLTC should be excluded. Volunteers can be found to replace those teachers who have been assigned to covid duty.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in the state till Wednesday. Yellow Alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. Yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts tomorrow. Rains were forecast in eight districts on Monday and Tuesday.
