Kochi: The Kochi Metro train service has been extended till 10 pm. The service was extended due to the constant need for regular travelers. Earlier the metro train service was till 9 pm. During this time the train will run every 20 minutes. At the same time, since last Monday, Metro services have been reduced to seven in the morning. More than 200 people were found traveling in the metro at the time.

According to the new schedule, it will be available from Monday to Saturday. The first train to Pettah arrives at 6 a.m. and the last train leaves at 10 p.m.  On Sunday morning the first train from eight and the last train will be at 10 p.m. Additional trains may be provided if required.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in two districts and a yellow alert in six districts tomorrow. Orange alert in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.

A yellow alert was declared in Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad, and Kannur districts. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts of Kerala for the next three hours.

CBSE has released the guidelines for the exams 2021

New Delhi: CBSE has released guidelines for 10 and +2 exams. The examination will be conducted in two stages. The decision was made to do this directly. Students can find out the details of the exam dates directly from the CBSE website.

The dates of the first phase examinations will be released on October 18. It consists of 90 minutes of objective-type questions. CBSE plans to pass the main examination after passing the objective examination in the first phase. The exams are expected to start in mid-November.

Covid cases down; Permission to open places of worship in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: The government granted permission to open places of worship in Tamil Nadu due to the low number of covid cases. Chief Minister MK Stalin made the announcement.
Temples are allowed to open three days a week. The government is permitted to open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Currently, there are less than 1300 corona cases in the state. The highest number of cases were reported in Chennai and Coimbatore. The lowest number of corona cases was reported in Perambalur and Thenkashi.

With the announcement of the new exemptions, 101 people can attend weddings and 50 each at funerals. All shops and hotels are allowed to operate until 11 p.m. In the last 24 hours, 1,280 new corona cases were reported.

Drug party; Aryan Khan’s bail application will be considered on October 20

Mumbai: The trial in the case of a drug party on a luxury ship is over. The court will give its verdict on October 20 on the bail plea of accused Aryan Khan. Aryan Khan will remain in remand. The bail application was considered today but the verdict was postponed to 20. The bail pleas of the three accused, including Aryan, have been postponed. The court will be on pooja holiday for four days. That is why the bail application was kept at 20.

The Narcotics Control Bureau strongly opposed granting bail. The NCB told the court that the case was at an early stage and granting bail to the accused would adversely affect the investigation. The NCB said it could reach other links in the case only after getting more information from the accused.

Five and a half kg of gold seized from Nedumbassery airport

Kochi: Five and a half kg of gold was seized from Nedumbassery airport. The gold was seized from five passengers on flights from Chennai and Dubai.

It is suspected that the gang members who reached Nedumbassery from Chennai were members of an international gold smuggling ring. The four boarded the flight from Dubai to Chennai. Of this, Ramesh V, Suresh Babu, and Sheikh Mohammad had 355 grams of gold in their possession.

Balan Umashankar also had 1100 grams of gold in his hand. The gold brought from Dubai was handed over to 4 people. It is believed that the gold was later smuggled by domestic travelers.

Zarina Abdu, a resident of Kasargod, was found with 3250 grams of gold on a flight from Dubai. It was seized during an inspection by the customs department.

The DRI also found 573 grams of unaccounted gold on a Dubai-Kochi flight. It is suspected that the person who brought the gold may have left it on the plane as he could not bring it out.

Navjot Singh Sidhu will continue as Punjab Congress president

New Delhi: Acting Punjab AICC general secretary Harish Rawat has said that Navjot Singh Sidhu will continue as the president of the Punjab Congress. Rawat’s response came after he met Sidhu in Delhi and met the Congress leadership.

Meanwhile, Sidhu said the Congress in Punjab had informed the High Command of its crisis and concern and had faith in Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka. Sidhu said he would stand by the decisions and proposals taken for the betterment of Congress and Punjab.

Charanjit Singh Channi was made the Chief Minister of Punjab after the resignation of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Following this, Sidhu announced on Twitter that he was resigning as PCC president. In his resignation, Sidhu had said that he was not ready to compromise on personalities and was resigning and would continue to work in the Congress. But the Congress High Command did not accept Sidhu’s resignation.

Admission to the National Defense Academy for women from next year; Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has said that women will be admitted to the National Defense Academy from next year. It is an academy that trains members of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The NDA is the first academy in the world to train all three forces together.

Rajnath Singh made the remarks at a webinar organized by the Shanghai Co-operation Organization International on ‘Representation of Women in the Armed Forces. “I am happy to announce that from next year, women will also be allowed to enter the National Defense Academy,” said Rajnath Singh.

Fire broke out in Taiwan; 46 deaths

Taipei: A massive fire in a multi-story residential complex in southern Taiwan has killed at least 46 people. 41 people were injured. The fire broke out in a 13-story building in the city of Kaohsiung. The incident took place around 3 am on Thursday. The death toll rose as the accident happened while residents were fast asleep.

The fire department said the blaze quickly engulfed the building. Eleven bodies were recovered during the rescue operation. The others died at the hospital. The death toll could rise further as rescue operations continue in the building, said Lee Ching Xiu of the fire department. Authorities said the building was completely burned down. The cause of the fire is not clear.
