You can enter comments and rankings on it. Complaints can be made directly to the Public Grievance Redressal Officer and the status quo of the complaint can be ascertained.
Thiruvananthapuram: The night travel restrictions imposed in the state because of the threat of Omicron expansion will come to an end today. The current indication is that the restrictions will not be increased. The restrictions were imposed from 10 pm to 5 am in the wake of the New Year celebrations. The next covid review meeting will decide whether to increase the restrictions as the Omicron threat persists.
Covid vaccination for 15- to 18-year-olds in the state will begin tomorrow. Registration for child vaccination has begun. There is no bar to registering directly at the vaccination center. Vaccination of children will be available at General, District, and Taluk Hospitals and CHCs every day including Sunday, except Wednesday till January 10.
New Delhi: Indian troops are deploying more troops across the border amid continuing Chinese provocations on the border. The military presence has been beefed up along the Ladakh-Arunachal Pradesh border. The Defense Ministry said the move came in the wake of China’s enhancement of infrastructure for its troops near the Indian border.
The Ministry of Defense said that the modernization and development of infrastructure on the northern border are in full swing. The Ministry of Defense said it has stockpiled roads, all-weather connecting tunnels, four strategic railway lines, upgrades of additional bridges across the Brahmaputra, upgrades of bridges on crucial Indo-China border roads, fuel, and weapons.
New Delhi: The number of Omicron cases in the country has risen to 1,525. The number of new covid cases increased by 35 percent to 22,775. Omicron virus has been confirmed in 23 states. In Maharashtra alone, 460 Omicron cases were reported.
It was followed by 351 Omicron cases in Delhi. There are 118 Omicron cases in Tamil Nadu. Other states have 115 in Gujarat and 109 in Kerala. Maharashtra, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu, which have reported the highest number of cases, have imposed strict restrictions on public places.
New Delhi: The Center has said that there will be no change in the reservation criteria for all-India medical admission. The Central Government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court announcing the decision. The annual income limit of Rs. 8 lakh will remain the same. The Center also submitted to the court the report of the three-member committee that there should be no change in the norms.
The committee had recommended that members of families with five acres or more of land be exempted from the financial reservation. The Center has informed the Supreme Court that the committee’s recommendation is to implement this provision next academic year. The central government had introduced financial reservation and 27 per cent OBC reservations for all India medical admissions. The Central Government has said that there will be no change in the reservation norms as the petitions questioning this will be considered on the 6th of this month.
In addition to the OBC reservation, 10 percent reservation has been introduced for the financially backward. Reservation is given for MBBS, MD, MS, BDS and MDS Diploma courses. According to government sources, the reservation will benefit degree and PG students belonging to the educationally backward sections.
Malappuram: A college teacher drowned to death in the Chaliyar river in Myladi, Nilambur. Nilambur Amal College sports teacher Mohammad Najeeb has died. Two persons drowned in the Chaliyar river. Najeeb was found after a search by firefighters, police, and locals. He was in critical condition and could not be rescued.
Najeeb’s father’s brother is the second to be swept away. Najeeb went to the river to save him. But the two were swept away. A man standing on a nearby bridge saw the two floating and alerted locals and firefighters.
Thiruvananthapuram: Registration for vaccination of children between the ages of 15 and 18 begins today. Registration can be done online and at the vaccine centers. Registration can be done very easily online through a smartphone or a computer with an internet connection.

1. Go to https://www.cowin.gov.in and click on the Register / Sign in Yourself icon at the top of the home page.
2. Enter the mobile number on the next page. When you enter your mobile number and click on Get OTP, enter the OTP number received as an SMS and click on Verify.
3. In the Photo ID proof column, select Aadhaar or School ID Card. Enter the photo ID number and the name on it, Girl or Boy, Others, and Year of Birth. Then click on the Register button.
4. With this the name of the person has been registered. Similarly, three more people can register by giving the Admore option.
How to get an appointment for vaccination?
5. Click on the schedule just below the registered name for the vaccination appointment. Then enter the PIN code of residence on the next page. If not, the district can be searched.
6. Vacancies in vaccination centers can be seen on each date. Enter the center of interest, date, and time and click the Confirm button. The confirmed message will then appear on that page as an SMS.
7. If for some reason the designated center is not available, the next day you can book on the Cowin site by giving your mobile number and OTP number.
8. The records of registration and appointment can be edited till the vaccination is done.
9. Show the registered printout or SMS when you go to the vaccination center to get the vaccine. The registered photo ID should be kept in hand.
Thiruvananthapuram: A special vaccination drive will be conducted in the state today and tomorrow for those above 18 years of age. Those taking the second dose of the vaccine and those who have had time to get the vaccine should make the most of this facility. From Monday, vaccination will be a priority for children. Health Minister Veena George has said that the role of the vaccine in Omicron immunization is huge and that everyone should get vaccinated as soon as possible.
New Delhi: The GST rate on work contract services provided to government agencies under the definition of government authorities and government entities will be hiked to 18 percent from today. The rate hike does not apply to contracts awarded directly by Central Government Departments, State Government Departments, and Local Self Government Institutions.
They will continue with the current tax rate of 12 percent. The tax exemption will continue to apply to full-fledged services provided to local bodies for performing the functions prescribed by the Constitution and to work contract services involving less than 25 percent of the goods. However, if such services are made available by government authorities through government entities, they will be subject to 18 percent GST, the general rate, from January 1. The State Goods and Services Tax Commissioner has said that the new rate will be levied from January 1 on work contract services provided to government agencies subject to the rate hike.
