Sreekanth Vettiyar seeks anticipatory bail in HC

Kochi: Vlogger Srikanth Vettiyar has filed a petition in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail.  
In his bail application, Srikanth alleged that the complaint was false and that the complainant was a covert target. Srikanth Vettiar claims that the complainant was a friend and that she befriended him with a secret purpose.

Srikanth has approached the high court with an anticipatory bail application after the police moved to arrest him. It is learned that Srikanth is absconding after being booked for rape. The Kochi City Police Commissioner had directed to intensify the search for Srikanth Vettiyar. Police searched the house for Srikanth but could not find him. Police say Srikanth has been absconding for a week.

Srikanth Vettiyar, who is famous for his YouTube vlogging and troll videos, has recently been accused of sexual harassment. Srikanth was first accused of rape on his Facebook page, Women Against Sexual Harassment. But again, through the same page, another person came to the scene with the Me Too allegation against Srikanth.

One killed in Kollam bus-lorry collision

Kollam: A lorry driver was killed when a private bus collided with an insulated lorry at Shakthikulangara in Kollam. 19 passengers on the bus were injured in the accident. The deceased was identified as Pushpan, a native of Ernakulam.
The injured were rushed to the district hospital. The accident caused a traffic jam on the national highway for hours. Shakthikulangara police arrived and restored traffic.

Kerala to Tighten restrictions in five districts: Lockdown similar control in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: As the covid cases increased in the state, the government imposed strict restrictions in Kerala. Categorized restrictions are imposed in the state.

There are strict procedures in five districts. With the tightening of controls, congestion has decreased in major cities. Some trains are canceled until January 27.

Similar restrictions like lockdown were imposed in the state on Sunday. KSRTC will run only for required services. Unnecessary trips are not allowed. There is no public transportation, including KSRTC. District Collectors issued the orders regarding the covid restrictions in each district. Currently, there is no district in the C category. The regulation was tightened in the B category like Palakkad, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad Districts. Police have intensified inspections in public places. There are also restrictions on Ernakulam, Alappuzha, and Kollam districts in the A category.

Meanwhile, KSRTC services will be operated in major routes, Hospitals, Railway Stations, Airports etc.

Mumbai multi-story building fire: PM announces Rs. 2 lakh financial assistance to families of victims

Mumbai: The Prime Minister has announced financial assistance to the families of those killed and injured in the fire that broke out in a 20-story building in Mumbai.

The money will come from the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The families of those who lost their lives will be given Rs 2 lakh each and those injured will be given Rs 50,000 each, the Prime Minister said.

Meanwhile, the death toll in a fire at a 20-story residential building in Mumbai has risen to seven. The fire broke out on the 18th floor of the Kamala Building in the Tardeo area of Mumbai. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. The condition of the movers is critical. The fire broke out at the Kamala Building in Mumbai’s Tardeo area around 7 am on Saturday. Thirteen fire engines arrived on the scene and worked for more than three hours to put out the blaze. It is learned that the cause of the accident was a short circuit.

New Delhi: Railways’ new order banning loud music and loud talking on phones on trains. Strict action will be taken if anyone is caught in this manner. The new measure is aimed at making travel more convenient for travelers.

In case of any such inconvenience to the passengers, the train staff will be held responsible. The new rule comes after the Railway Ministry received several complaints in this regard.
Train staff, including RPFs, ticket checkers, coach attendants, and caterers, will be responsible for ensuring that passengers are treated in an orderly and dignified manner so as not to cause any inconvenience to passengers.

During the awareness drive conducted by the Railways, the staff advised the passengers not to listen to music or speak loudly on the phone without earphones and to be polite.
In addition, the new law states that group passengers will not be allowed to speak until nightfall and all lights will be turned off after 10 pm. Passengers who do not comply with the rules will be dealt with strictly following the provisions of the Railways Act.

Dileep to be questioned for three days: HC; No arrests until Thursday

Kochi: Actor Dileep’s anticipatory bail application will be heard again on Thursday in the case of conspiracy to endanger the investigating officers in the case of attacking the actress.

All the accused, including Dileep, have to appear before the investigating officer for questioning. Permission was granted for questioning for three days. Questions can be asked from nine in the morning until eight at night.

Details should be handed over to the prosecution in a sealed envelope on Thursday. The court also ordered that no arrests be made until Thursday. Dileep told the court that he could appear for questioning for up to six hours and cooperate with the investigation. The High Court said that if bail is granted, it will not interfere in the investigation and if so, the bail will be canceled. Dileep’s lawyer told the court that he could accept any condition.

At the same time, the High Court observed that much of the evidence was disturbing. The court ruled that the conspiracy was tantamount to execution. The court said that if the conspiracy was not committed, it could be considered as having been committed.

The court heard the case in a special sitting on Saturday. Assessing the importance of the case and the need for time to hear detailed arguments, Justice P Gopinath adjourned bail plea till Saturday. The morning sitting online was skipped and the argument was heard directly in the courtroom. The prosecution had produced more evidence against Dileep.

Apart from Dileep, his brother Anoop and sister-in-law TN Suraj, his cousin Appu, his friend Baiju Chengamanadu and hotel owner Sarath from Aluva had also sought anticipatory bail.
