Thiruvananthapuram; The Government of Kerala has announced the services of buses owned by the newly formed company KSRTC-Swift. The bus services will start on April 11 at 5.30 pm with the flag off of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Seat booking for the KSRTC-Swift bus will start from 5 pm today. Tickets are available through the website www.online.keralartc.com and the mobile app enteksrtc.
Ticket tickets and additional service tickets will be available online.

In conjunction with the inauguration, a special offer will be made on Swift AC services on the Thiruvananthapuram-Bangalore route online through the website www.online.keralartc.com and the mobile app enteksrtc. The return ticket issued in this manner will be available for use within the next 3 months. This benefit will initially be available to each passenger from the four Gajaraja Slippers whose reservation starts at 5 pm tomorrow. This benefit is also available to first-time bookers who add new services every day until April 30. More services will be available online every day during the month of April and reservations for 100 such buses will be available by April 30th. Those who book their first ticket on these buses will also get the benefit. A total of 100 people will get the inaugural benefit in this way.

In addition, those who book tickets online on selected routes will get a discount of up to 30% on the ticket price.

Nemmara: Driving and conductor license suspended: Minister Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram. Transport Minister Antony Raju has asked the Transport Commissioner to take action against those who illegally loaded passengers onto a bus in connection with the Nemmara Vela.
Following the instruction, Palakkad-R. T. O. N. Thankaraj has suspended the driving licenses of the bus drivers T. Senthil Kumar and A Taufeeq and the conductor licenses of the conductors Saravanan R. and Najeeb. K. P.
The license was suspended for three months.
The Minister was directed to take strict action to revoke the vehicle permit and cancel the license permanently. The minister said strong action would be taken against other buses that had driven dangerously like this.

Medical certificate required for driving license now online; Minister Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju has said that a new system has been set up for doctors to upload their own medical certificates required to obtain and renew their driving licenses online.

For this, registration facility will be provided to the approved doctors on the ‘Sarathi’ portal of the Department of Motor Vehicles. Registered doctors can examine the applicants and submit the medical certificate online.

This system will ensure the authenticity of medical certificates and the complete elimination of forged certificates. This will also avoid any inconvenience to the public in uploading paper medical certificates. He said the system was part of the drive to bring the entire services of the Department of Motor Vehicles online.

Geneva: The World Health Organization’s latest warning about the next pandemic is noteworthy. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that insect-borne diseases, such as syphilis and dengue, could pose a major threat to the world.

Dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya, and Sika viruses are all known as arthropod-borne viruses or arboviruses. They are transmitted by blood-sucking arthropods such as mosquitoes, insects, lice, and fleas.

The aforementioned animal diseases are most prevalent in the tropical and subtropical regions with a population of about 390 million. The WHO warns that coordinated action at the international level is essential as the frequency and severity of infectious diseases caused by the arbovirus increase. According to Dr. Ren Minghui, Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization, the challenges posed by these diseases will increase as the urban population grows.

Terrorist attack in Srinagar; CRPF Jawan martyred

Summer vacation for classes one to nine is from April 3rd to May 31st

Thiruvananthapuram: The mid-summer vacation for classes one to nine in the state will be from April 3 to May 31. The mid-summer break of the 2021–22 school year in government-aided and unaided schools has been rescheduled. Schools will reopen on June 1 after the summer break.

The annual examination for classes one to nine, which began on the 23rd of this month, ended on the second of April.

The Plus Two exams which started on March 30 and the SSLC exams which started on March 31 are continuing. The SSLC exams will be held till April 29. Plus Two exams and Vocational Higher Secondary second year exams will be held till April 22.

Private buses have stopped services in protest of the Panniyankara toll collection

Palakkad: Private buses on the Palakkad-Thrissur route have stopped services in protest of toll collection. The bus owners said they could not pay the high toll and would go ahead with the direct strike. If no decision is taken, the bus owners have decided to go on an indefinite strike in front of the toll plaza from tomorrow.

The bus owners protested at the Panniyankara toll plaza. The National Highways Authority had raised the toll rate from April 1. Bus owners say they cannot afford the higher fares. As a result, buses did not pass through the toll plaza. The bus owners then stopped the service and protested.

Case of assault on actress; Pulsar Suni has filed a bail application in the Supreme Court

Kochi: Pulsar Suni, the first accused in the case of attacking the actress, has filed a bail application in the Supreme Court. The bail application stated that the trial proceedings would be delayed. Pulsar Suni is the only accused in the case who is in jail.

The High Court had yesterday granted conditional bail to VP Vijeesh, the fourth accused in the case. The Supreme Court had earlier granted bail to Martin Antony, the second accused in the case.

Earlier, the high court had rejected Pulsar Suni’s bail plea. Pulsar Suni has stated in his bail application that further investigation is underway in the case. Pulsar Suni was arrested on February 23, 2017.

Mullaperiyar: The Supervisory Panel

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has said that the Mullaperiyar Supervisory panel will be strengthened. Each committee will include representatives from the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The court also directed that the Mullaperiyar Supervisory panel be given full responsibility under the new Dam Safety Authority until the Dam Safety Authority comes into force. The order will be issued on Thursday.

The proposal comes after the Center informed the Supreme Court that it would take another year for the authority to come into existence. The Central Government has stated that it has no objection to the transfer of powers under the Dam Safety Act to the Committee.

The bench, headed by Justice AM Khanwilker, said that the oversight body could approach the apex court immediately if the two states failed to implement the oversight panel’s recommendation.

The motion was discussed with each other and the court was asked to hand over the minutes. The Supreme Court intervened in a petition filed by Joe Joseph, a native of Kothamangalam, seeking further strengthening of the Mullaperiyar Oversight Committee and further expansion of its scope of work and responsibilities.
