Kannur: CPI (M) central committee member MC Josephine has passed away. She died at the AKG Hospital in Kannur at noon after feeling unwell at the CPI (M) party congress venue. She has chaired the State Women’s Commission. She was 74 years old.

She was removed from the Central Committee this time due to old age. Josephine, who was previously being treated for a heart condition, collapsed at the party congress venue yesterday morning.

Thiruvananthapuram: Up to 14 thundershowers are likely in the state. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the southern districts except for Thiruvananthapuram and central Kerala today.

As part of the alert, yellow alerts have been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts.
