Kannur: CPI (M) central committee member MC Josephine has passed away. She died at the AKG Hospital in Kannur at noon after feeling unwell at the CPI (M) party congress venue. She has chaired the State Women’s Commission. She was 74 years old.
She was removed from the Central Committee this time due to old age. Josephine, who was previously being treated for a heart condition, collapsed at the party congress venue yesterday morning.
Former Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission (2017-2021). She has been the Vice President and State President of the All India Democratic Women’s Association, the Chairperson of the Women Development Corporation and the Chairperson of the Greater Kochi Development Authority.
