BJP leader shot dead in Delhi
New Delhi: A local BJP leader has been shot dead in East Delhi. The deceased has been identified as Jitu Chaudhary, 42. His body was found in front of his house in Mayur Vihar Phase 3.
He was rushed to the hospital but died later. Police said he was shot. A few bullets were recovered from the scene. Police said they have intensified the investigation for the killers.
Srinivasan murder: Four in custody, The arrest is expected to be recorded today
Palakkad: Four persons have been remanded in custody in the murder case of RSS leader SK Srinivasan Krishnan. It is reported that the person who delivered the vehicle to the killers was arrested. There are 12 accused in the case.
The arrests are expected to be recorded today. They are being taken to a secret center for questioning. Police sources said that those who were directly involved in the incident will be arrested soon.

Consumer complaints can now be filed online
Thiruvananthapuram: From now on, consumer complaints can be filed online in the state. The state level inauguration of the nationally launched E-Daakhil website will be held at 10.30 am on the 22nd under the patronage of Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR. Anil will perform. Transport Minister Antony Raju will preside over the function at the State Consumer Redressal Commission.
Complaints received online will be checked immediately and the complainant will be given a number and informed of the date and time of hearing the complaint online. Thiruvananthapuram: The tourism department has recommended to the state ministers to buy 10 new Innova Crysta cars.
The Department of Tourism has recommended that the cars be replaced due to age. The Finance Department is looking into the matter. All the vehicles now used by the Mantras were purchased during the last government.
No vehicle has been purchased for ministers since 2019. Most of them have covered one and a half lakh kilometers. The ministerial vehicle will be replaced at the end of one lakh km or three years of service. Once the old vehicles used by the ministers are taken back by the tourism department, they can be repaired and used by the various departments as per the instructions of the government.
After the second Pinarayi government came to power, only the Chief Minister got a new car. For his safety, he bought two Innova Crysta and an accompanying Tata Harrier for Rs 62.5 Lakh. The car was bought by the Home Department for the Chief Minister.
Jignesh Mewani arrested
New Delhi: Jignesh Mewani has been arrested by the Assam Police. He was arrested from Palanpur in Gujarat around 11.30 pm on Wednesday. It is learned that Mewani, who was brought to Ahmedabad, will be shifted to Guwahati.
It is not clear which section has been charged against Jignesh. Police are not ready to release the FIR information. Jignesh Mewani is the MLA from the Wadgam constituency in Gujarat.
Sources close to Mewani said that the police had said that some cases had been registered against him in Assam and did not know the details.

Covid cases on the rise: move to impose fines for non-mask, extend insurance period for health workers to six months
New Delhi: Sources said Delhi residents may soon be fined for not wearing masks in public as covid cases are on the rise in and around the national capital. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which oversees the city’s fight against the epidemic, sources said. A fine of Rs 500 may be imposed for not wearing a mask, sources said.
The schools will remain open and guidelines on how to prevent the spread of infection on campuses will be issued after discussions with experts, sources said. The meeting also discussed whether the inspection should be expedited. Sources said that the pace of immunization in the national capital is likely to increase.
Covid cases have been on the rise in the capital for the past few days. According to a bulletin released yesterday, the number of daily cases rose by 26 per cent to 632 over the previous day.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan scheme, has extended the insurance period for health workers engaged in covid preventive activities to six months. Slum evacuation in Jahangirpuri should be stopped: Supreme Court
