ED seized 100 crore from the house of two Congress MLAs in a raid

Ranchi: A joint raid by the ED and the Income Tax Department on the residences and establishments of two Congress MLAs and their associates in Jharkhand has uncovered unaccounted deposits and cash transactions worth over Rs 100 crore. The raid took place at the residences of MLA Pradeep Yadav from Paudaiyahat and MLA Kumar Jaimangal Singh from Bermo. The ED team also raided the house of Ajay Kumar Singh, a coal industrialist who is related to MLA Anoop Singh.

The CBDT said in a statement on Tuesday that it conducted searches at 50 locations this month, including Ranchi, Godda, Bermo, Dumka, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa in Jharkhand, Patna (Bihar), Gurugram (Haryana) and Kolkata (West Bengal). The raid took place in coal and iron ore business establishments. Investigators initially found the role of MLAs Kumar Jayamangal alias Anup Singh and Pradeep Yadav.

The Congress is a partner of the JMM-led ruling coalition in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Several business groups are also involved in coal trading/transportation, execution of civil contracts, iron ore extraction and sponge iron production. According to the CBDT, many prominent political leaders are involved. More than two crore cash was seized.

Patna: The Ugratara Sanskriti Mahotsavam in Bihar came to a colorful end with the ghazal of the famous Malayali singer. This was an event organized by the tourism department of Bihar. This is the first time that a Malayali singer is making her presence known in such an event.
Manjari, who made music her goal from the age of five, is today one of the best singers in South India. Manjari has lent her voice to songs in several films and has won several awards. Manjari first participated in a music program when she was in class 8 with a Kolkata-based music band. Later in 2004, Manjari became active in the music industry. Manjari entered the Malayalam cinema by singing for a song composed by Ilayaraja in the film Sathyan Anthikad. Manjari has also sung songs by famous music directors like Ravindran, Johnson, Mohansithara, Kaitapram, MG Radhakrishnan, Vidyasagar, Ausappachan and M Jayachandran. In the year 2004, Manjari got the award for the best singer of the state of Kerala.

Apart from Tamil and Telugu, Manjari has also sung in Urdu. Following this, Manjari has also received the Sahir and Adeeb International Award for her overall contribution to Urdu language and Urdu ghazals.
Manjari was received with applause by the audience in Bihar as she is well known through many ghazal programs.
Manjari captivated the audience with ghazals like Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, Hotose Chulo Tum Mera Geet Amar Kar Do. This is the first time that Manjari is participating in such an event in Bihar.

Supreme Court upholds reservation for Economically Weaker Section

New Delhi:  The Supreme Court has upheld the central government’s move to introduce 10 percent reservation for the economically backward classes. The order of the bench headed by Chief Justice UU Lalit held that the 103rd Amendment, introduced for economic reservation, was not inconsistent with the fundamental principles of the Constitution.

The five-judge constitution bench issued four separate judgments.

Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who read the first judgment, said that economic reservation does not violate the equality outlined in the Constitution. Justice Maheshwari ruled that financial reservation is not against the fundamental principles of the Constitution. Justice Bela Trivedi, who read the judgment for the second time, agreed. Justice JB Pardiwala also upheld the economic reservation.

Thiruvananthapuram: State police chief Anilkanth has ordered a crime branch investigation on a complaint filed by Thiruvananthapuram mayor Arya Rajendran demanding an inquiry into the letter circulating in her name.
Crime Branch Thiruvananthapuram Unit SP S Madhusudhan will investigate the case under the supervision of DYSP Jalil Thottathil.

Several times tried to poison the juice; Greeshma confessed

Thiruvananthapuram: Greeshma confessed that doing the juice challenge was part of the plan to kill Sharon. Greeshma admitted during interrogation that she tried to poison the juice several times. Greeshma has been brought to her house in Ramavarmanchira and evidence collection is in progress. Evidence will also be taken at the places where she stayed with Sharon.

It is indicated that the decisive scientific test result in the case will be received today. The first accused Greeshma was taken into custody after detailed interrogation. Greeshma’s father Sreekumar was also brought to his house in Ramavarmanchira for evidence
There will be evidence in other places where Sharon and Greeshma came together. Based on the court order, the proceedings will be filmed on camera. Greeshma will be brought under heavy police security for evidence collection. Tamil Nadu Palukal Police will also be there to help.

Earlier, mother Sindhu and uncle Nirmal Kumar were brought to the places and evidence was taken. The investigation team hopes to get the decisive scientific test results in the case today. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the mystery of an unknown person breaking the sealed door of Greeshma’s house.

Palukal police are investigating the incident by collecting CCTV footage. The Tamil Nadu Forensic Department also conducted the investigation. But the investigation team says that whether it is an attempt to destroy evidence or theft, it will not affect the case.

BJP with a huge advance in by-elections; Victory in four out of seven constituencies

BJP won in the by-elections to seven constituencies in various states. BJP won four out of seven constituencies. BJP candidates won in Uttar Pradesh’s Gola Gorakh Nath, Haryana’s Adampur, Odisha’s Dham Nagar, and Bihar’s Gopalganj. Gola Gorakh Nath, Dhamnagar, and Gopal Ganj constituencies were sitting seats of the BJP.

In Telangana’s Munugud constituency, infighting is going on. In the fight between BJP and TRS, TRS is leading by a small lead. RJD has won the Mokhama constituency in Bihar. It was the sitting seat of RJD.

Another constituency in the state, GopalGanj, where the by-elections were held, saw a close fight between the RJD and the BJP. In the last lap, BJP won by a narrow margin.

Shiv Sena’s Uddhav faction won the by-election to the Andheri East constituency in Mumbai. The Uddhav party won with a huge majority in this constituency where there were no major parties in the contest.

Air quality is critical; Medium and heavy goods diesel vehicles are prohibited from entering Delhi

New Delhi: The government is taking more measures in Delhi where the air quality remains in critical category. Medium and heavy goods diesel vehicles have been banned from entering Delhi as they increase pollution. Vehicles carrying essential goods are exempted from the ban. The transport department has announced that a fine of Rs 20,000 will be levied on vehicles violating the directive.

Meanwhile, there is no ban on CNG-electric trucks entering Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that air pollution is not only a problem in Delhi but also in North India. BJP is politicizing the issue. Arvind Kejriwal pointed out that the central government should intervene to solve the problem and it is not something that can be handled by the Delhi government alone.

A youth was beaten to death in Palakkad for a delay in feeding a dog

Palakkad: A youth was beaten to death at Palakkad. Palakkad Pattambi native Harshad was killed by his relative for allegedly being late in feeding the dog. The police confirmed that the accused Hakim was beaten by Harshad with a belt and a piece of wood. Harshad was brutally beaten and fell to the ground as Hakim kicked his ribs and broke his ribs. The cause of death was determined to be internal bleeding. According to the postmortem report, Harshad’s body had around 100 marks of beating. The police investigation found that Hakeem had brutally beaten Harshad several times.

Wayanad: Tiger attack in Awayal and Kolagapara of Wayanad Meenangadi Panchayat. Seven sheep were killed. Protesting against the incident, the locals blocked Panamaram Benachi Road. The strike ended following a discussion led by the DFO.

In the past month, the tiger attacked 21 goats from the Krishnagiri, Kolagapara, and Awayal areas of Meenangadi panchayat. 18 sheep were killed. The locals are in fear. Locals staged a blockade at Kolagappara and Benachi Panamaram Road.

In the discussion led by South Wayanad DFO A Shajna, the strike ended with an assurance that the tiger would be caught soon.
