Thiruvananthapuram: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s brother said that his wife and son refused treatment. Oommen Chandy’s brother Alex Chandy made the disclosure.

Alex Chandy asked the state government to form a medical board and provide treatment to Oommen Chandy. He alleges that despite being diagnosed with the disease in 2015, the treatment was refused and his son Chandy, Oommen and his wife Mariamma are the reason for it. Alex Chandy demanded that he be given modern Ayurvedic treatment instead.

The brother also alleges that Oommen Chandy’s wife and son refused treatment when he went to New York for treatment. “Despite discovering the disease, this information was kept hidden from the family members for three years. The elder daughter Mariam Oommen, the youngest son Chandi Oommen and his wife Mariamma are standing against the treatment of Oommenchandy. Alex Chandy alleged that despite going to Germany for expert treatment, they did not agree to get proper treatment.

It is suspected that the denial of treatment is due to the intervention of prayer groups.
